I've used output from GPS in GIS mapping, but I've stayed away from the devices because I knew once I started I would spend myself silly. Garmin has a good reputation. I've used Trimbles on demo but I'm not sure if they have a consumer-grade model. You want drop-resistent, screen resolution helps in the sun. rechargable batteries would be nice, and I imagine some have better PC interface than others so you can d/l coordinates.

"To many westerners, any country music played at taverns is cowboy music. In contrast, to working cowboys and ranch people, cowboy songs are those whose stories tell the occupation of riding horses and raising cattle." -Hal Cannon, http://fieldnoteswest.com. See also: [artist]Pop Wagner[/artist], and strange as it might seem, [artist]Michael Martin Murphey[/artist] walks the cowhand walk. [artist]Ian Tyson[/artist] comes to mind as a modern archaic but I'm mostly familiar with covers of his stuff.

Bunnywabbit! Ack, I still need to email you those class scripts. *looks for a sticky note* Things are busy-busy-busy and I have no kitchen until remodeling is done next week and I'm sick of having to wash vegetables in the bathroom and there's 3-day-old shellac on my fingernails (but I am the shellac supergoddess and our baseboards look hawt!). *deep breath* I hope your summer is going well! I'll email you!

I let it scrobble WMP on my work PC (my handouts are built on rock'n'roll baby). I didn't realize it would pull in my entire listening history!

Hey chickie! Hope things are good with you. PLA was fun, but kind of a blur...I am looking forward to it really being spring!

I listened to a lot of L42 in college and grad school, and recently picked up their best of. I haven't gotten around to comparing it to the old cassettes I have to see if there's any songs I need to get individually. One of those songs helped psyche me up to break up with someone (I'm sorry if you don't understand, forgive me if you can.). Nice to have a baritone to sing along with.

Taxes? What are those again...? You MUST see DeVotchKa as well...I am prioritizing their Seattle show on May 3rd. It seems I get to about one show a month, and after hearing their new stuff I'm as in love with them as ever. Cheers!

WOW! Thanks for the link, that's really great stuff. So different. How was Gogol Bordello?!! My brother and his girlfriend went, too.

Triple w00t! I am so envious...can't make the Seattle show this time around. I have to call my brother and make sure he goes - such a great opportunity for good music in Boise! Actually, I think you get decent music there quite a bit. My brother is happy with it, and he's got some esoteric tastes like I do. Haven't seen the movie...I'll add it to my list!

Thanks! That looks way cool. I'll have to get the stuff up there as soon as it's mastered!

OMG - you MUST go! They are hitting Seattle on a bad date for me, but they tour often it seems and I think I'll have another chance soon. I am going to see Balkan Beat Box and hopefully Slavic Soul Party as well...and Ghostland Observatory in April (again!!!) Waiting to see who will be playing at the Sasquatch festival this year, too...

I know! We've finally dropped into the 50s here overnight, and our high today is only supposed to be 72. But I want snow, too. (Of course, there isn't yet snow in the Michigan town I moved here from, either....)

Oh, and last night we finally got our real cold front. Woke up to 68 degrees, 68% humidity (instead of 73/100%), the windows are open and the a/c's off!

Weather is hopefully about to ease up; we had a cold front come through this afternoon, and the temp dropped into the mid-80s. With the cool, our pm thundershowers should let up, and I'll be able to cycle more. Only once last week!

Hot. Hot and wet, which is nice in... Oh, wait, wrong continent. Not as wet as WI lately! We haven't gotten our afternoon t-storms for almost a week now, which is really unusual. Maybe tomorrow!

Didn't used to like 50 ways, but I was a kid when it was omnipresent on the airwaves and just got tired of it. The only PS I have is Graceland & Rhythm of the Saints. I should probably pick up some older stuff; I do love Kodachrome, Me & Julio, and most of all, Still Crazy After All These Years.

I actually *have* some of Billboard Top Hits 1983 in iTunes (borrowed from, yes, my public library). But I actually *bought* Billboard's Top Rock-n-roll Hits 1969, which includes Take a Letter, Maria and Time of the Season (a cappella: badum chick-uh Ah! badum chick-uh Ah! What's your name?). By the way, you're wearing Yoda's tank top: Love I something something.
