You're inspiring me to tune into a Baroque station (that's the kind of Classical music I know I like). Vivaldi always helps me when I'm studying. :)

Thanks for your suggestion of Iancu Dumitrescu, that microtonal stuff sure is different!! Have you ever heard of a Polish band called Profanum? They started out as an (in my opinion) somewhat ordinary symphonic black metal band, and then became a hybrid of classical music and black metal (Profanum Aeternum..., Misantropiac Floris, both fantastic) and then did something really incredible--they gave up their traditional instruments and made some unbelievable dark ambient classical music with a sinister, black-metalesque feel (Musaeum Esotericum)--it's REALLY worth a listen!

Abbado is zeker tof.
