I don't mind Northlane, Erra, or Volumes but they have become the typical "progressive bands" out there now. It's like the typical death core bands Whitechapel, Carnifex, and Chelsea Grin where it has become too 'vanilla' for me at times. In your area of city and/or country, is there not worthwhile promoters, bookers, or agents that can set up international bands and tour gigs? Maybe your country's music industry does a poor job on promoting the music scene. The support for music may be there but the promotion of it may not be, hence the lack of international live acts.

I am a second year student studying in the pharmaceutical field as a biotechnology lab technician. I am gearing it towards research and development that will pertain to pharmaceutical medicine. There is a huge amount of information processing or "bioinformatics" in our studies on research relating to storing and processing data on computer from research in class. It's a component that is required in any research field dealing with processing data. These past couple of years, I have immersed myself in study and classes with sparingly time left for my family! I feel so bad for saying that but actually I do make time with my family and friends. However, I still find the time for music and books. Tons and tons of books!!

Well chances of a 'meh' band ,underground or not, having poor production happens all the time in the music industry but it doesn't mean they are a weak band. At times the new unsigned bands will make not make a well produced album simply because of limited financial funds but I will support them and hopefully they build up from that and make a better next album. I guess you will have to move up to North America to see the real good band tours and gigs! There is a lot of good jobs over here too and universities. :D

Bands that are great sounding do not have to be underground to be enjoyed. hehe There's a lot of underground bands near me and I'm talking about Toronto, New York, and surrounding area that are awesome and some not so awesome. That's a lot when you think of it. For me, underground or not, if the band/artist sound unique and fresh within the confines of their respectable genres, that will always get my attention. What type of tours come to your city?

Okies, now maybe you may have heard some of these bands already. These bands are in my area or from Canada and bands that I like listening to: Of Temples, The Afterimage, Intervals, The Northern, Auras, Fall In Archaea, Centuries Apart, Galactic Pegasus, and Strangers (from Moose Jaw). There's more but those are the ones on the top of my head atm. I watched the video "Time Illusion" by Xetrov and I luv it! Are they releasing a new album soon? :)
