Thank you. I've actually spent the last two months trying to find the website I made it on.

HI! It's lovely to hear from you :) We sort of lost touch a bit, didn't we? How have you been? I'm basically the same as ever - but then, I resist change as much as humanly possible :P I miss our conversations discussing our various media consumption. Also, your avatar is super cute!

I saw them back in January and Kevin wore these bright red tight pants and a neon green shirt. At the end of the show, he climbed up onto a Jesus Christ-like cross as if he was being crucified. It was crazy! Such a great performance though. I didn't realize he could play drums too! He is a highly skilled musician. As for of Montreal's music, I love all of them. Their oldest album, Cherry Peel, has a Beatles-esque vibe to it and I'm diggin' it. If I had to pick, I guess I'd say I like their newer music. Only because I think their sound has really evolved and it sounds so original now. Hissing Fauna and Skeletal Lamping are extraordinary. My favorite album though is probably The Sunlandic Twins. What about you?

I saw of Montreal and The Fiery Furnaces live this year and they were fucking AMAZING. I got to meet Eleanor and she was sooo modest and sweet. You have great taste in music, sir.

Do you mean The Resistance? Not so new anymore! :) And yeah it's pretty good, I like their other albums better though. Have you heard the new song they've done for the next Twilight movie? Not sure what I think yet...

wellll actually it's been more soul than funk. I have a List that I'm going through. I guess later James Brown stuff, Parliament, and Earth Wind & Fire would be good funk to start with. Soul-wise, my favorites have been James Brown, Otis Redding, Booker T. and the MGs, Aretha Franklin... I'm still just on the surface. Thanks for recommending Derris Kharlan! I don't have a super high tolerance for this kind of music yet, but have you heard Alex Mauer? My roommate and I get a kick out of his music, I think it's also chiptune. OH AND I THINK YOU'LL LOVE THIS http://www.dawnmetropolis.com/

hey!! Tigermilk is my favorite, hands down. The only other one I have is Dear Catastrophe Waitress, though. I've been really enjoying soul music (and funk and also blues) this year, and I'm trying to juice my school's music library for all it's worth. unfortunately, it will be a while before james brown can supercede sufjan on my last.fm account... what've you been diggin recently?

It's representative of my phases, but probably not of my overall musical taste :) I only know a few Camera Obscura songs (was obsessed with Lloyd for a while) so not really enough to go see them. Adrian is a bigger fanboy.

You are standing in a pool of your own cowardice. A glimmer of hope and prayer for redemption is placed in a vase opposite a nautical themed pashmina afghan. Exits are North, South, and an unending wave of despair.

Hey hey, chuckles! My current avatar was so hard to make, now that Adobe seem to have discontinued animated GIF support in the current version of Photoshop. You like this one also? Another screencap from marble maddness.nes. For some reason I had to save it with a million different options turned on/off before lastfm would display it correctly. It had this persistent flash of orange in the background layer, blugh. And: should I stop addressing people as Chuckles? It seems kind of patronising in text, but I mean it only with affection.

Oh! Oh no! I fail at internet! Um I saw Sarah McLachlan (shut up) at the Sydney Opera House - it's rather surreal I am rather selfindulgent and with all the money I spend on glass bottles of Diet Coke and nail files and junk I should really be able to go to gigs quite easily I might come to Western Australia sometime this year, to get stoned with another lj friend, look at dolphins, and we should sit in a park with portable speakers, silently trading obscure songs! Do you live in Perth?

Yep, I did. It was pretty much the best concert I'd ever been to in my life. I would see them again in a heartbeat if they ever came back. So. Amazing. Of which, yay! 1 more sleep to Mogwai! I wonder if you can get any tickets off eBay?

Aww, I would've thought you'd have gotten it ages ago. Why not? :( Did you go to Sigur Ros about 3/4 years ago?

That sounds rad! Yeah, I wanted to go to Goldfrapp (and I know you fancy her) because even though her gig was in the very austere Opera House, I'm sure she would have wrangled some bunny corpse bikini girls in, somehow, secretly. I am not cool enough to go to cool things. They have Cool People there, and whether or not I think they're actually cool, they've still the power to make me feel Uncool, no matter how cool I am for being there. Um. A friend of mine was nagging me to go to Mogwai alone, to prove something perhaps, and TO SEE MOGWAI, but I have about $3 in the bank so I guess we'll never know.

Ha, to be honest, I didn't even want to actually be there because I'd kind of grown out of their music! Which is kind of sad, maybe I should have sold the ticket to someone else instead... So looking forward to Mogwai and Dan Deacon though! Shall be excellent.

Heya, yeah you did! Umm it was kind of disappointing actually, but I kind of was expecting it to be, considering I like their old stuff heaps more.

I (sort of) wish! They're performing in a week or something. Probably not the least fun concert I could go to.. but concerts are too expensive and freak me out. You?
