Hello, sorry for the late reply. Oh, I know about Discos Horoscopo, the had a roundtable in the Ministry of Culture some months ago, I wish I could have gone :( But yeah, I think their vinyl are less expensive. Good to see more record label focusing on the "chicha" sound from the past! And yeah, it's nice when you can appreciate some sounds you didn't like or cared for (i used to dislike a lot of popular music that I love now).

Also, it seems like you've been into salsa lately, that's nice! Salsa is easily one of the most popular genres here, and every salsa fan loves Hector Lavoe and others Fania artists.

Yeah, it seems like their situation is still the same, sadly. I remember reading that they have been having financial trouble for a while. Still, at least is good to know part of the team continues to make music. I will definely check the links you posted, thanks! I also found some interesting releases, looking at my country's music releases from last year. Sonora Patronal (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iIa80weJHLA) and Hit La Rosa (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b1BL43pK36c) made some interesting fusion, adding elements from other genres to cumbia, like reggae and latin. By the way, if you are into collecting vinyl, Infopesa is re-releasing some old classics in that format, plus they can send copies overseas. They've started with Los Mirlos first LP, and they will continue with Juaneco y Su Combo "El Gran Cacique" later this year. If you are interested, check their facebook page. And again, thanks for sharing!

Hello, I'm sure you will appreciate these Momoe Yamaguchi postage stamps from Niger issued in 2017. Awesome, aren't they? Also very nice new profile picture! https://imgur.com/a/XYGZOOX

Yeah, I was very surprised too when I found them. I saw the stamps for the first time when somebody posted them into Momoe Yamaguchi fan group on Facebook. They are part of large number of 2017 Niger issued stamps with famous people of all kinds, from Nelson Mandela, Yuri Gagarin to Paul McCartney and many others.

I'm definetly listening those albums then! I'll probably come back to Cross My Palm later, it happens to me often that I start to listen to the discography of an artist and I do not like the first albums I hear. Thanks for the answer!

Oh, I have not listened to those compilation albums yet, thanks for mentioning them. And yes, we need more Chicha Libre, I hope they release something new soon. By the way, is there any Akina Nakamori album you would recommend for someone who just started listening to her? Love hearing stuff like La Boheme or 少女A but I didn't like Cross My Palm that much.

Hi! Maybe this will interest you, Infopesa just released a "Manzanita y su Conjunto" compilation album on Spotify/Apple Music. There was also a new EP by "Los Wemblers de Iquitos" produced by Olivier Conan from Chicha Libre. It's good to see the genre is still getting some love.

Great collection! I'm glad there's someone else scrobbling peruvian cumbia on this site. I wanna listen to more kayokyoku in the future, so I might take your profile as reference.

Hello. You listen to some wonderful music, and I thought you should have more "friends" on this site. I may have refer some questions about 黛ジュン (Jun Mayuzumi) songs and/or 'tags' to you one of these days if that's okay. Otherwise, I'll stay out of your way unless you leave a shout or a message.
