Oh I love Dock Boggs ("Country Blues" is one of the best sides ever recorded), Charlie Poole et al, esp. considering how many of the old time artists were featured on the Anthology - I love that stuff, I'm just bad at putting it into words, I guess I consider that old time/bluegrass style more "folk" music, I meant more like "pop" country sort of stuff that kind of originated with Jimmie Rodgers and the Carter Family. Even 50s-60s stuff if you could recommend that would be fantastic, all I really listen to of that time period are Johnny and Hank. These Bob Wills tunes are great though, great fiddlin', that's a bit more like what I meant, never really listened to him before!

If you wouldn't mind recommending some, who are some of your favorite country musicians of the 78 era? I really only listen to Jimmie and the Carter Family

Thanks a ton! Gonna watch it tonight. And yeah, Kano is great, definitely even *more* dance-oriented, they're one of the earliest (and best) italo-disco groups - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z8ByJW7BURw - their eponymous 1980 album is a must-listen

Yeah, I love Black Devil. Have you heard Kano? Use of the vocoder is a lot less sinister, but still fantastic. Did you manage to find Finishing School out of interest?

O_O I was only aware of the shows Ramleh have played and will be performing at in Europe. Wow, I already have something to look forward to in 2015. This is very good news!. Also, BDN and Deutsch Nepal is less than a week away! I already bought my ticket and I'll be booking a room at one of the hostels in the city tomorrow. I'm So excited!

Anyways, check out Hive Mind. That project has been active since the early 2000s and it's the man behind the Chondritic Sound label.

Hmmm... a lot of the "reprehensible" music I've been listening to is what I would rather not admit but fuck it, no shame. For the past couple weeks I've been jamming to All Hallow's E.P. and The Art Of Drowning by AFI, RAC bands and right wing power electronics projects, a few straight edge hardcore bands and some TRAP. My tastes are not adding up anymore. I swear if anyone were to see what I've been listening to they would automatically assume that I'm some confused teenager who is desperately trying to find their identity, haha. I just really don't care anymore. I'm too old to be going through phases and I'm pretty comfortable about who I am as a person. I can listen to whatever I want to without subscribing to the ideas. It's all about having fun and not taking everything so seriously.

Yeah, I remember you telling me about everything you listened to back then. It's cool though because I've been going through a weird phase in my music taste as well. It's pretty reprehensible. The last really good show I went to was the Chondritic Sound tour in Silver Spring, Maryland. Hive Mind and Redrot killed it. I also got a lot of good tapes from the distro which I was pretty excited about. I'm actually going to two shows this upcoming week, Yellow Tears at Nothing Changes on Wednesday night and I'll finally have the chance to see Container in RVA Friday night lol. Do you have any cool plans coming up soon?

omg... i doubt it, force publique congo is on hospital productions and i'm pretty sure they're 'merican. i originally thought that the force publique was a congolese militia formed in resistance to belgian colonisation but now that i read up on it they were actually the official army of the congo under the belgian occupation and like all of the officers were white europeans. so i dunno what the deal with this project is anymore. all i remember is the vocalist was shouting something about revolution but i don't actually remember much at all but the vocals were kind of goofy. but it WASN'T LOKE

genocide organ are really good, and their live material (from what i've heard on Japan 2007) is even better. it's really a shame about the white power themes, alhough it's pretty doubtful they actually advocate them and it's "just an exploration" as with so much p.e... i've been good, just reading plays at the moment lol. i'll be back on tumblr shortly :~)

i miss out on so many classic/essential/iconic names because there's no logical trajectory to my listening habits so i'm only now giving TG and Ramleh a proper listen for example. and by the way Ramleh is an epic win bro, i can see why they're your fav. also listening to Hex Minora again and i might start listening to noise girls maybe.. i'm a world music connoissieur now bc i listened to a japanese 60s girl pop comp and an african disco comp btw

hair police good stuff. love that spasmodic cut-up collagey type noise. but tbh I don't really listen to noise much at all anymore lol... if I discover anything I'll let you know :^) but, idk you've probably listened to everything by dom but his collab with Burning Star Core called "Ghosts of Niagara" is really damn good as far as I can remember. lasse marhaug's collected 90s tapes are great as well. also the live album that Wolf Eyes and Anthony Braxton did goes hard.
