Still scrobbling, eh? Yep, I'm back after just a Five-year sabbatical (tutorial). In the immortal words of the great Tony T, "Rock On!"

hello, dear Rob. I Saw you listening to Black Napkins by Frank Zappa. Great piece of music! I studied for 5 months to get playing it on guitar. Hugs :-) Roger.

Rob, just wanted to wish you Happy Holidays and a New Year. There are a few people that are a real pleasure to hear music from so glad you have enriched my experience on Rdio, Thanks

I'm glad to have participated in the top 10 guitarists from the beginning so happy it worked out so well. my only wish was that on my part i had given more thought and not used my votes up so quickly but am glad to see FZ make it to top 10 biased as i am. It also allowed me to search out music i have not listened to in a very long time and will be going back to the original list. great kudos to you.

Hey, glad you're enjoying the Linda Oh! I've been listening to it a lot lately, that and Akinmusire's "Prelude: for Cora". Both of those recordings I'm obsessed with right now. And you're right, the drum kit is mixed perfectly on "entry". I dig her version of "soul to squeeze" ... mmm sounds good. Have a great day Rob!

After my last post about Linda Oh, I had to go download it. Had not heard it since Lala days and I'm glad to say it's just as excellent as I remember! Have to check out that new Radiohead too!

Yep, Stetson has raised the bar. I loved what you wrote about having trouble getting truly excited about new music since V2. Hahaha! So true. Digging the Bailador album... thanks! Dejohnette is SO good. All good... That's fantastic about a new Akinmusire album. Just checked his website. I'd love to hear him more. Did you ever get to hear him on bassist Linda Oh's self released album, Entry? http://www.lindaohmusic.com/html/slideshow.php Wish Rdio or Mog would put that up.

Wow, that one sounds very promising! Into the queue! I'm also just getting started with Colin Stetson, V1. I do dig it very much, and maybe too early to say this after just 2 complete listens, but I feel like V2 is a more cohesive album. I'm enjoying some of the different stuff he's doing on V1 though... like the sax/beat box thing... don't remember which track it is.

Rob... nice, I see you've been listening to New History Warfare V.1! haha... that's some crazy shit. love it. wanted to make sure you've got the new David Binney and Donny McCaslin on your list if you've not heard them yet. The Binney is super excellent, and I'm still getting into the McCaslin, but he's genius. http://mog.com/chrome#album/49332451 Hope you're having a great week.

Hey Rob! Only had time for 3 tracks of Malcom Braff Combo, but it sure sounds sweet! Has a real bluesy, soulful edge to it. A little gospel style jazz almost. And I loved the percussion too. Great find!
