It reminds me of the time, in a moment of weakness, I google image searched 'Anna Karina' without any sort of Godard film filter to be seen. The old was there, terrifyingly wearing similar clothes to the young version so that it seemed as if she had just become that way overnight. This is, of course, impossible but I can't help but now feel fear every time I awake in case I too succumb to the same fate. There was no song involved (thankfully). If only we could somehow revert the first time process, it would solve the song debacle and also the horrific, accidental 'where are they now' search.

I just wanted to send you a small correspondance to say I saw the illusive Jane B on the television yesterday evening and I briefly wondered if she had ever gotten your mixtape adressed to the sea. I came to the conclusion that this televised version of the women herself probably hadn't, seeing as it was a past version, complete with the Serge and the skirts, soaring through the airwaves (isn't technology quite the time-machine when it wants to be!)

Great! I have a handheld vacuum and the best sounding bowl/typewriter thingamajig this side of the county line. We should meet up for a beer and discuss this wonderful opportunity.

I'm currently living with my girlfriend just above the lake on the outskirts of piedmont. And where do you lay your pretty little head?

Psst, this is "achromatisms" from tumblr (I was going to leave a message in your ask box but I feel this is a more appropriate platform to discuss music). It's been almost two weeks and I'm still raving about the Beach Fossils show; just wondering: do you know why Dustin stopped in the middle of a song?

So, i definitely live in Oakland now. Maybe we can rekindle a friendship that was never had?

you're definitely not going deaf, they were super disappointing. I did not hear the keyboard even once, haha. and his vocals were really quiet, I couldn't hear him at all when she was singing, maybe cause he was sick but I don't know, I like his voice a lot better than hers/shared. yea, Dirty Beaches was totally the shit, I'm glad I wasn't the only one that thought so. I was talking to a guy during Dum Dum's set (which I didn't even watch, yawn) and we agreed that basically we both could've just left after Dirty Beaches. Did you get his CD-R? I bought two of them, a little disappointing production, it's a little muddier/lo-fi than it was coming across live (there was such a beautiful sharpness to his guitar lines) but it's still really good.

So what'd you think of Wednesday? Dirty Beaches was my favorite by far, he totally blew me away.

Yea, there is so much going on in the next 2 months. You think the overlapping is bad now, just wait for Coachella! haha could have worse problems tho right? but I think Voices will be playing more gigs so it's cool, I'll let you know how it is. Let me know what you think of DBC, I'd be interested. Yeaaa, so psyched on Minks! Be sure to get there early, Dirty Beaches are awesome too. x

well that sounds like an interesting show. I'm pretty much sold on the Tamaryn show though cause I gotta see The Soft Moon again. how fucking great was The Soft Moon last night?! It was like A Place To Bury Strangers with added analog synths, fuck yea. Justin from Soft Moon/Veil Veil Vanish/Nachtmusik DJs told me he has another band, Voices, that's playing at Milk Bar next Friday, I'm probably gonna go to that too. I'll message you the link to the Dangerous Boys Club stuff, they don't allow links on last.fm x

Yea, I really like the guy who runs Fast Weapons, Nathan from Gossip, he's got really great taste so I'm sure the bands will be good. DBC are really interesting, very dense and layered, very unique, I can send you some tracks if you're interested. I haven't listened to Soft Kill yet, I only just realized a few days ago that it wasn't Soft Metals. Too many Soft ----.

haha well there are certainly worse things to OD on. I'm not sure how I feel about Tamaryn, have you seen them before? You should check out the Fast Weapons tour on March 11th with Dangerous Boys Club and Soft Kill at The Hemlock, should be really good. x

Chines lollies do tend to have that enthralling, and therefore addicting, aftertaste of jolly. It's a bit like if you could eat your favourite toy, I think that's what it would taste like. And I'm a firm believer in putting effort into something only your own self will find amusing. It is always, without fail, worth it. I think though, in this case, I will find it amusing too. Also I'm sorry, I've been running out of natural light lately but I will find some more soon, extra especially for the sanity of your letterbox.

I can only find one other without resorting to the aid of google, Jane B - Serge Gainsbourg. I suggest you put this on Side B also as then the 'B' could easily be mistaken for the side rather than the last name initial (possible awkward moment therefore averted). And now, I don't know what a watermelon jolly roger is but it sure sounds lovely and perhaps the postman likes lollies more than he likes quarters? If not Jane will have to have it and it might cheer her up (and she sure as hell needs it). My friend and I used to send each other parcels filled with the miscellaneous left overs you have after cleaning your room, we wrote notes to the postmen to thank them and glued on pictures that we thought might be of interest (mostly J Pop stars and food).

Yes, there's nothing like a catfish massacre to bring a group of old friends together if I do say so myself, and I do say so myself. And I trust your lessons because, quite frankly, if you can't believe what is on television what can you believe? Really we can only wait and see what Jane will do next, will she continue on her downward spiral (and paint in black)? Or will that foolish girl, god forbid, pick herself back up and learn to handle the bitta truth?

Oh I'm not surprised, I think there are many who would react the same way if the horrific yet melodic insult 'you're not the biggest catfish in the sea' was thrown their way. I for one would probably stay in bed for months, begin denying basic comforts - food, blankets, washed hair, 100% cotton socks, - dreaming of the murders of the bigger catfish until I wake one morning with blood on my own hands and maybe a whisker and the echo of a watery purr.

your mention of swell maps reminded me of the time i clicked your last.fm link and saw we were listening to 'how come you're such a hit with the boys, jane?' at almost the exact same time. i was surprised but then i thought to myself 'well who wouldn't think that question and then listen to it in song format?'

YOOOOO, we just started a new group for maximum share-age and discussion of garage rock and all its subgenres (blues, surf, rock 'n roll, psych, lo-fi, punk, whatever else). It'd be really killer if you joined and became a contributor! http://www.last.fm/group/Garage+Social+Scene

That's awesome! I love LA but I could never afford to live there haha. It could be possible but I'd need to have 3 or 4 roomates. I'm going back in June though, excited for that.
