Hi the_crane_wife! I saw that you have a pretty good music taste and thought that you'd maybe like our music as well. We are three girls from the forests of Sweden and we are going to record our very first album in Woodstock this summer! We would love if you checked out this song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sc_SKuEZm0o ! Let us know what you think (it's much appreciated) by commenting the video, and also check out our cover of 'Kathy's Song' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=44kjqZUC5PU that we got the chance to play live for Paul Simon! Love, VIDAR

Your library is amazing and I always discover nice bands I've never heard of. Very cool. Something I need, when I come home from a long day of school, teaching fifthgraders (first year of secondary school). I never thought, that school can be that exhausting! X) Have a nice day.

That sounds like a swell idea to me. If I can't finagle my way in I might try something like that myself.

Sadly, I was unable to go to Tallest Man on Earth due to generally not having a lot of money right now. How was the show?

I haven't seen any Jack White-related stuff either. I was kind of hoping to hold out for a White Stripes reunion, but I realized I don't want to wait 10 years for Jack to have to pay off an alimony payment or something.

I'm seeing Lotus Plaza tonight, and Brian Jonestown Massacre and Jack White later this month. That Tallest Man on Earth show is sounding pretty good as well. Oh, and Jesus and Mary Chain are playing a horse racing track next month, which should be random and fun.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v116/CitizenKane/f3eba427.jpg Check out this photo I took from the le Butcherettes set. Pure insanity. It's such a great festival overall. I think every music lover owes it to him or herself to check it out at least once. So do you have any exciting shows coming up?

Coachella was fantastic. Really brutal heat that weekend, but it's hard to complain when you're spending a weekend with friend's watching bands like Pulp and Radiohead and Refused and The Shins, etc. etc. etc. one band in particular that floored me was this Mexican punk band called Le Butcherettes; at one point their frontwoman threw a Casio keyboard into the crowd, which was one of those holy shit moments that seen to crop up in the desert heat. So yeah, it was awesome. Have you been before?

I haven't, they put that in after I graduated. Always wanted to know. It's cool to know someone that performed there.

I unfortunately didn't end up going, so fingers crossed they end up playing somewhere here around Coachella. What part of the city do you live in?

Ha, yes, although I think there's something cool about someone seeing a Victoria's Secret ad and being exposed to a band as good as that. Seeing them next week, can't wait!

I like really like his style of guitar, too many musicians in the world of rock make use of the guitar in the most generic/mundane/boring way possible - Good songs should really be good enough instrumentally that they would be enjoyable to listen to even without the lyrics and Elliot does justice to that standard of mine. Good songs, thanks for suggesting them. I especially liked Tomorrow Tomorrow!
