Aye, was looking at that Jex Thoth today - my friend's band are playing too, so probably a good idea to go ;) What's up down (ha) in London?

I didn't end up going to Comanechi either :( next time though for sure. Yes I also like PRE, Miss Matsuura rules, I almost saw them at a festival once but they pulled out... They've split up now though I imagine? I noticed you're going to a show in Cambridge..you from there? I am! And Cloud Rat yess, I can't wait for that show.

Noticed you have some Myself and Maximum Perversum scrobbles. Which of their albums/splits do you have?

I'm glad you like it! Yeah I haven't really been to any good shows in the past two weeks or so. But I'm seeing Despise You/Magrudergrind tonight and Wolves in the Throne Room/Woe/VIT on Thursday. I've been really excited about both of those all summer

Ughh I didn't get to go to the show :( My area was predicted to get hit a lot harder, so none of my friends who were gonna drive down there wanted to go and risk it. The venue refused to cancel or reschedule the show, because they would have to give refunds. After all that, my city didn't even get hit that bad! No flooding or anything

Nice! Maths are my favorite screamo band, as well as The Saddest Landscape and Suis la Lune. You listen to all the good ones, so I guess I could only also suggest June Paik and Louise Cyphre. I was supposed to see pg 99 tomorrow, but it looks like it might be cancelled due to the hurricane :(

Found quite a few interesting London music shops today - Rough Trade, Flashback, Second Layer, probably more I need to discover. Will definitely have to make a few trips there :)

Haha I agree, after Sing the Sorrow it gets a little difficult to judge. Do you like any screamo?

Haha there's no shame in listening to AFI. I've loved them since I was a kid, and are like the only band I still listen to from that age. I doubt I'll ever get tired of them. I can't really think of anyone that sounds anything like VC or CC or Sleeping Peonies. But I didn't see [artist]Wreck and Reference[/artist] in your library, and they're amazing. It's hard to call them a genre, but it's kinda experimental doom/drone with clean vocals.

Well that is an actual novel. I suggest it. I might get back to reading myself.

Thanks! Yeah, I'm a Fables fan. I own the first three books and due to money restraints downloaded the rest. I stopped reading them and totally need to get back to them. I reread the ones I own and they're great. Snow White is a boss. Have you read the Fables book about Peter Piper and the Pied Piper?

Oh, and apologies for missing your birthday the other day. I bet the lack of a arbitrary post from me on your Facebook wall really spoiled your entire day! Hope you had a good time.

My pleasure, Christa, I myself only just discovered Ms Wolfe yesterday and she is rather good. Both albums, 'The Grime And The Glow' and 'Ἀποκάλυψις' really dazzle on a first listen. I discovered her through this list of 'Dark Bands To Watch in 2011' on Stereogum. There is some really good stuff on there and some total hipster bullshit too. http://stereogum.com/655072/18-dark-bands-to-watch-in-2011/franchises/listomania/

I've never been a fan of singy side to my heavy music, in my mind that statement made no sense either, I prefer my growling singers to do nothing but that. It always kinda turned me off from the likes of Fear Factory, Machine Head and even Dillinger to an extent. That's where my Para comparison was coming from, trust me I am in no way sexist when it comes to my music. Just always been a bigger fan of the Botch / Will Haven side of things. I've watched a couple of Rolo videos and quite liked them, but to be honest, it was the whole LA Confidential thing that got me to check them out. The GJ gig should be brilliant, I love the ABC. This will be my third attempt at seeing them live, had tickets to see them on the Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Silence and Worship and Tribute tours, both time Daryl get sick as soon as he got into Glasgow. So I apologize in advance for cursing the show and making the whole building explode o_0

I've got no problem with Rolo, been wanting to see them for a while. Just a few posts before my own didn't seem too happy about them supporting. Was trying to find out if I shouldn't get my hopes up.
