Wow thanks! I love yours too holy smokes. We have a lot in common :-) And yes, I'd definitely recommend Bossypants! It's funny and awesome that Tina Fey reads it herself. I listen to it whenever I just wanna zone out and focus on some work or something hehe. Also followed your Tumblr just now :-)

HOLY FUCK. That show was out of this world. I didn't see you, but I was in the row right behind the people at the barrier. If Emily would have reached her hand out I WOULD have been able to touch her. I was very pleased with the setlist. Hope you had as grand a time as I did! Talk to you soon! Let me know when you record again. :)

I have been streaming it every once and a while for about a week now. I am trying not to spoil the excitement of the release hahah. Overall I think it is a great album, I think it will be a great addition to their already stellar discography. Synthetica is an excellent evolution from Fantasies and Emily's idea to return to synths as a base is outstanding. The slow songs aren't quite slow enough for me and I haven't had a chance to really get into the lyrics yet, but I have faith that they are wonderful. I really really like Speed the Collapse, Synthetica, and Wanderlust. How about you?

I was just in Bristol the weekend gone for Simple Things festival; Grimes was probably the best of a fairly bland line-up. Seems like a fairly nice city though, although everyone seems to be trying too hard with their outfits. Ahah yeah it's a bit lame but Metric have been at the borderline of massive venues for a long long time now so I guess it's to be expected.

I've been sticking on Summer mixtapes other people have made lately since I do have a secret love for pop music, but there's been dreadful stuff like Drake and the like sneaking in to my charts from it that I've had to quickly delete. I don't mind One Direction though ha, it seems I've slowed down on new things lately, barely find myself listening to much of anything anymore *sigh* Where about in the country are you heading for university? I think the Ritz is 3,000 capacity, not so sure anymore though I don't go often, mm I think that was the last time I saw Metric as well. How time flies!

actually speaking of jens lekman, have you noticed that he has never really had any particularly interesting band tees? like picture-wise? I don’t know, I feel like screenprinting my own because of it. Maybe I’ll do that over summer and send him one. You can have one too if you’d like if this plan goes into action. Yeah! Haha noo that’s what my blog’s there for I suppose! :) AH that’s actually quite the coincidence (well, kind of)! Before you sent me the message I was actually beginning to fill in an application form to volunteer at the Oxfam down micklegate (you know the one with books and records..oh the records!) but I still need to finish it haha. So awesome that you love books too though! Do you like films at all aswell? :D oooh no the messages have got quite abit longer! Is this okay on your lastfm or would you rather move to inbox? I don’t mind either way!

aaah yes I’ve always wanted to go to Edinburgh fringe (and perhaps even study there at uni.. I love the city so much), I thought I had the chance to go with school but it turned out only drama students could go. I was no drama student I’ll tell ya! But I may or may not be going this year depending on whether I can mooch a bed or sofa or something off my friend who lives there haha, but I’m all the more determined now you’ve said how excellent it is! You know someone I know?! well… it’s to be expected really. We do live in york afterall! And ahh that’s good haha, I’m surprised they didn’t describe me as the girl who sits in the corner of the room drooling, crying and stroking pictures of jens lekman whenever I’m on a break.. ah just pulling your leg! Why would I do that…………….

Nah, I missed slow club, but yeah I’ve seen them before. Haha no I get you! I wasn’t really that impressed either, I just wondered to myself ‘why do they keep touring York?’ (cause you know york isn’t exactly noted for being a gig hotspot or anything) and now I know why. Oh I really do. This reminds me, have you heard of Jonquil before? They are soooooo unbelievably good and are playing at the duchess on the 22 may I think, I will be going for sure! You should get yerself down too :D Hahah yehh living the life, man! aren’t cigarettes like a fiver a packet now?! Indeed an expensive habit that :o do many of your friends share the same music taste with you? it’s always sort of been a problem of mine (not so much nowadays) but it meant I never went to as many gigs as I’d have liked because, and I’ll admit it, I was too chicken to go alone! (so I have total admiration of you doing that!)

Aaaaaa jealous! AND it’s your last year of the IB so you don’t have to worry about another torturous year of school!!! Gah, well I hope you have tooons of fun at leeds fest, which I’m sure you will if ya liked it so much last year :) Yesss Jarvis was really on his game last year, really glad I saw them too (even though my friends weren’t that interested I loved seeing them in the rain heheh) And I hear the cure are amazing live, I know so many people just going for the Saturday to see them, so be sure to get a really good place in the audience! :D oooooh yeah I saw the osheaga lineup, it’s so good buuuuut primavera is definitely more my taste/scene. ;D ah ah why are all these brilliant festivals so far away/expensive?! I looked to see what festivals were recommended in the UK on here and I got End of the Road and Latitude, and they’re still both in the south. The closest one is beacons I think, they all have an alright lineup I supoooose but nothing on those international beauties.

Tegan looks absolutely disgusted, like she's just walked in on Tyler the Creator giving a speech for the National Front or something. Uh, nice taste too.

Hey that doesn’t sound too bad! I’d be questioning the level of fun if it were, per se, just physics, but no planet saving is definitely a more accomplishing career choice than most other things heheh ;P and I hear Bristol isn’t too bad for gigs either! Hahaha what! That’s insane, I could never use my brother’s id, my gosh darn hair’s too long! Oh, I do go to most of the gigs in my event list, but some I just keep there to remind me that they’re happening, so I decide whether I’m gonna go or not later, if that makes sense. You went to leeds and Manchester by yourself!? :o no, I definitely wouldn’t call you a loser for going alone, that kinda thing takes guts! Ah man, if I’d have known ya back/possibly went to Huntington too, then I could have been a like-minded gig buddy for ya! I’m guessing that not many of your friends are into or as passionate about the same music as you then?

but! To get on with this long overdue message o’ yours, oooooh not long now till you get your monster holiday aadhsfjh I am so jealous. I think college finishes in like mid-july or something ridiculous like that! oh. Leeds fest. Oh. Oh oh oh oh oh. I don’t think I’m off this year, it’s just getting more expensive each year and I found some of the people that just go for ‘the experience’ to be pretty awful :L but they just stay intheir tents drinking and smoking weed so don’t worry about seeing them too much haha! Although, like you say, there might be a few really good smaller bands playing! Last year they had yuck, best coast, horrors, smith westerns, gold panda, pulp headlining and a few others so I was pretty happy! are you doing the weekender or just a single day? And have you seen the latest lineup the primavera festival in Barcelona? It is BEAUTIFUL. Almost every band I love is there.. check it out! http://tinyurl.com/cjjv2hm

aaah I’m glad you’re not mad with me! Haha noo of course you didn’t offend me, I think I was just never meant for the internet.. sigh.. keeping up with so many people is all too much! and it’s not ridiculous at all, you never know what people are thinking when typing a message, they might just say ‘hi’ but behind that ‘hi’ COULD be a mind filled with hatred and absolute scorn hahaha (also just realised i'm going to have to split this message into 3 parts.. insanity!)

nooooo of course not! i just need a kick up the virtual arse to reply sometimes, i do read the message and intend on writing the best reply you've ever read, but i get easily distracted and forget :[ aah i am sorry, in real life i wont just stop talking or anything haha this just happens with everything i do online.. i'll get on replying to you right away! >.<

yeah i'd totally make that campaign to get him here, and if it worked... ohh boy! i couldn't even imagine how ecstatic i'd be :D and i swear we only get a few good bands here a year anyway (especially compared to manchester or leeds) so i think he definitely needs to be aware of such a great city as york (although that's debatable at times..)! awh he's such a sweetie, genuinely must be one of the best artists alive to his fans!

aaah that sounds even more difficult than i originally thought! :o i suppose it's alright though considering your super extended holiday period, you only have like two months left! ooh have you thought about where you're going for uni and what you'd study(if you're going)? and yesir, a former bootham student.. 'former' being the most important word here! yeah you must be pretty great at german then! imagine how good you'd be after, say, a month and a half if you did so well after only two weeks! i'd love to do a similar thing over summer, but maybe in france. i'm deciding about universities now and i hear that the french ones don't teach in english so i'd have to learn it pretty quick from my basic understanding i've got now! ugh yess i have exactly the same problem! i'm not the youngest but it's close! argh that is really lucky, i only have brothers so unless i become super manly that's not gonna work haha! how could anyone be embarrassed about loving jens though? such a loveable man.

Yesss I've seen whip it, i was totally unaware at the time so when i heard both his songs in it i got uneccessarily excited haha (and thus watched the film again atleast 5 more times). Yeah that's true. I suppose if he were to get big it'd already of happened by now! We haaave to get him to play in york somehow, it would be one of the best things to ever happen to the city. seriously! haha sorry for the length of these messages, just got so much to discuss! :D

ugh yer' not joking there, my art teachers get so annoyed when people call it a doss subject! Unlike every academic subject where you know exactly how much work you need to do, this art is seriously unending, there's always something more you could do.. so i completely sympathise with your sister! I'm not sure how you do it, IBs sound so hard, 6 subjects?! Is that in-depth or just covering them? oh and I'm not sure if you know her or not, but I know a girl at your school called Vidya who's doing the baccalaureate in your year, she used to go to my old school :) you finish on the 18th of May!? :O that's fantastic. You could have the best travel/adventure across the world with all those months to spare! Do you know what you'll do with all that time? ooo my birthday's on the 12th so we're pretty close ('cept me being a year younger ofc)!
