sorry for replying you late. I kept thinking but could not decide yet, I'm lazy af, but I think I ONE YEAR LATER know the best 2021 metal album lol try it if youre into a 2nd wave bm with elements (also a little bit of doom) of 1st not sung in english: Morte Incandescente - Vala Comum i am retrospectively listening it now and remembered that was not a release i liked so much from the past-past year... maybe i'll answer you which was my fav 2022 before 2024 haha!

Haha! What is your top 2020-list then? Thanks for the tip on Morte Incandescente. Sounds like it is right up my alley! Top three bm of last year for me were Stangarigel - Na severe srdca, Negative Plane - The Pact and Sigh - Shiki. Heavy 1st wave vibes and inventive stuff

What do you think of Borknagar? I saw them live this summer and did not like it at all. But then the first album is stellar. Is it all down to Mr. Garm or have I misunderstood?

electric storm here so i posted the first part not to risk losing it, but I was gonna say more... Oh yes, I think Borknagar sounds superior even than Windir, which is almost unanimously praised...

but yea the reason i knew them is because its a supergroup. i dont know why the guys are so far from the mainstream (BM-wise, obviously)... a mystery to me!

as far as progressive black metal goes, without folk being discernible anymore after so many studio recordings, I prefer Enslaved a thousand times against Ulver - they are really "vicious", addictive stuff right there in your face, with more electronica influence

I really love Frost by Enslaved. And the new stuff I have listened sounds good too.

a thousand times against? is that correct grammarly speaking? I think i meant "1000x over"

I noticed 'Dehumanizer' is your most listened to album by the Sabbaths. Are all the plays deliberate? I do like the album. I also noticed 'Technical Ecstacy' comes in third. Also not a traditional choice, but I love that album.

Yes, maybe some are from shuffle playlists but I hear playlists so seldom the last, maybe, 7 8 years, that probably all Dehumanizer scrobbles were on express intent. Its my favorite Dio album by far. I had a moment in life that the album I most listened to was technical ecstasy, bought the original media too... very underrated imo. and Dirty Women is in my top 5 BS tracks, maybe... Nowadays i'm not so addicted to some of the tracks anymore because I already listened to them so much lol. that balladic one which I forgot now, not sung by Ozzy... Great one! Its true that my scrobbles dont reflect even my personal hierarchy of the albums though. Dehumanizer has a lot more tracks then the first ones, and to sum it up spotify has a version with a lot of deluxe material... for me the first 5 are perfect, technical ecstasy is very underrated... Never say die is underrated too but it is visibly the worst with Ozzy... 13 is a lot more energetic imo...

2/2: 'Joule reports that he was drunk and high on speed when he drew the finalized designs for the album. The cover is hated by many fans, but also has a cult following (much as the album itself), most notably with Max Cavalera and Glen Benton both stating that it is their favorite album cover. Chris Barnes of Six Feet Under also said he likes the artwork, stating; "It's really the birth of the Antichrist in a Pop Art way which is scary of sorts on a few different levels for me."' Regarding Dehumanizer, the first three tracks are really on fire, and also 'I' rules. No bad tracks, but the rest is not on the same level as these four from what I noticed through the somewhat distracted listening. Regarding Born Again so far, first two tracks are great, the third track is a strange hybrid between experimentalism and ballad (??) and not the best for me. Maybe it is a grower.

headless cross is an easy-to-listen heavy metal stuff, with tracks in a similar level of quality, although I tend to remember more those with strong choruses like devil and daughter and when death calls. also to note is the riffs in kill in the spirit world.

thanks for the question! I was thinking on it myself through yesterday and today... really went to know the british by accident. If it was like 24h ago I would have no idea since I had to remember both sounds... I appreciate more than I thought the technical and kind o primitive thrash from the UK one! But since their career was not very long and the third album kind of disappointed me, I'll choose the japanese BM - at least the albums I know remain blackened thrash though... And that's a lot from Sabbat JP that I still dont know, just downloaded the complete discography... I also think they have more potential the be my favorite sabbat even more than now! tooo many splits, compilations, demos and live records! gotta read first and know if it compensates to listen to them, if there are new tracks or alternate versions with relevance... gonna stay in this Sabbat one more week I guess!

=( this vegan antifa is boring as fvck including on twitter... wtf and i read your comments but I could not read anybody else's except a few because they were shown as "deleted". I was just asking, in a minimal way, not to argue or something (this whole thing about Horna really doesn't interest me at all), but regarding what you said to that girl (?) about not having friends and passing the whole day listening to music and scrobbling lol because accidentally I found out that, for my surprise, I just got 20k last year for the first time in my life. thats because I'm always listening to spotify at work and at street and at home I dl torrents, but before spotify couldn't scrobble at my work because somehow the intranet philtered, but suddenly this philter got off... so I was just questioning if someone's listen to music at home instead of drinking beer everyday or whatelse why does it imply he being a loser (if I can remember that was all to it).

I listen to Spotify at work. Nearly constantly. I pay for Spotify premium. There’s nothing wrong with listening to music. But when you’re spamming the same album for 12+ hours in order to boost your Death tracks, and have done this for nearly ever artist on your profile, it makes you seem insecure and a legit faggot.

When you are only listening to Napalm Death, Misfits and Ramones it is no fucking problem to have 30k plus scobbles a year. :-)

thank you! i actually i wanted to check out how the musical matches (apparently you can see who has the same most scrobbled song like you for the week/month/year) but i didn't find one person so far who i matched with lmao. also a redesign which is kinda useless and the dark theme doesn't work on that design. the best feature by far is that you can edit your scrobbles.. spent some time on clicking through my library to find some mistakes to fix them. :D

yes, just discovered them, man. their earlier sound is nothing truely special, its good, but common. the lyrics are the main feat. But I got surprised by the "resurrection" of the band after the hyatus, with great production but still in the roots, a more dense sound. Liked it more (and the lyrics were untouched, hehe).

Their lyrical content is unacceptable to Spotify. They cater to the SJW/feminist/PC crowd and others that are too sensitive... we live in a real soft world where too many people get offended easily.
