I suppose the thing about Drukqs was that all the 90s Aphex albums were in very different styles, whereas Drukqs feels like a further refinement of his drill'n'bass from HAB/RDJ Album - when listeners were waiting for five years for a complete reinvention, they'd need to readjust their expectations accordingly to appreciate this one

i love that he released this because he lost an mp3 player with a bunch of unreleased shit so he was like "fuck it, 30 track album surprise drop" i wish a LOT of artists today did this too.....

richard's impenetrable puzzle-box. every close listen seems to reveal an entire new song, even after a year or so regularly listening.

I love this album so much. I like the fact that it's all over the place and delves into so many different styles of music. I love all of the piano and prepared piano songs too especially, just a fantastic and interesting album to dissect and listen to.

Can confirm. One of the best feelings I've had when finally understanding an album.
