"When Worlds Collide" is a single of the industrial metal band Powerman 5000 from their album Tonight the Stars Revolt!. The song is virtually always the last song to be played at concerts. It is one of the band's most well-known songs and has been used in the video games Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 and WWE Smackdown! vs. Raw, Little Nicky and "The Best Damn Beat Downs 2" from The Best Damn Sports Show Period. It is also used as Purdue University's entrance music for football games.
A song from Spongebob Squarepants also entitled "When Worlds Collide" is probably a parody of the Powerman 5000 song. It must also be noted that there is a fictional rock band in Spongebob called 'Stingray 5000' which may be a parody of PM5K.
This song is possibly based on the science-fiction hero, Flash Gordon.
