That's good to hear. :) Hmm, their first and second records are metalcore, the next two are a mix of hard rock and heavy metal, Nightmare is pretty dark rock and Hail to the King sounds like old school heavy metal. Don't know what you prefer, I'd give all of 'em a try (except the first, maybe).

Someone compared those flicky-flicky riffs + overall mood to NIN's "All Time Low" but I haven't checked it yet (some allusions related to Phenomenon being Disabled Complexes pt 2 were there too...) - and Sa Bir is quite fine too but sheesh, Kyokotsu feels so intense when you experience it live-wise...(gives some strong apocalyptic images whenever I play it, so it's all neat :DD)

I'm liking it more and more with every listen. For an album that the band members branded as "simple", there's a surprising degree of complexity to most of the songs. The first time I heard Phenomenon I was like, "what the hell is this?!", in a good way, of course! I was bummed out after listening to STU and was afraid that every song on the album would sound like it. Thankfully, that's not the case. The album still has some flaws (songs ending abruptly, absence of a good opening and closing track, the inferno being a waste of time, album version of STU sounds worse the single version etc.) but overall, I like it. It'll definitely be in my top 5 favorite albums of 2014.

Thanks for posting a link to the bonus tracks on ARCHE! I hope てふてふ is a good album closer. I plan on placing that after Revelation of mankind, and putting and Zero as the opening track.

Just completed listening #1. Pretty hard to process, but I know I'm going to be listening to this a lot more. Also, TOSHIYA SUPERSTAR

oh I ALSO FIGURED OUT I can't handle soulless music. There has to be passion in the singer's voice, mostly. I'm NOT SURE how I can tell but it's what prevents me from enjoying a lot of indie music nowadays, it's becoming more generic. I listened to one Asteroids Galaxy Tour song and it was acceptable. I'll see if I enjoy more!

Thanks Kristin! Boy my birthday sounds fantastic. I dunno if Mick Jagger is physically my ideal man, though I'm sure he would have been sexy as fuck in personality format. I DON'T REALLY LUST AFTER MEN I DON'T KNOW ANYMORE, isn't that neat? SORRY KRISTIN I neglect technology. Did I even tell you I moved out into my own house? YEAH THIS TIME FOR REAL. I have listened to The Shins about 4 times since, sorry about that. I really miss those turkey pesto baguettes. But it would be so easy to make them, just have to figure out a good pesto sauce. Then add cranberries and turkey, easy!

Michael Jackson breaks my heart to think about too. FUCK I was just starting to rediscover all The Shins albums. OH WELL. I'm having the hardest fucking time discovering bands I like. I sit there listening to half a song of an album and I'm just bored. I will now immediately skip an album if the singer is boring. I'm a wannabe singer now and I only want to discover music with vocals I want to emulate! Then even if I like an album it sounds the same after 3 songs. I've been like this for 3 years and I have no idea what kind of music I like and I keep wanting to find a certain sound but I can't!

I kept forgetting to check last.fm but here I am finally. WHAT DO YOU MEAN AS IF I LISTENED TO EMINEM? I listen to everything I know and like. I can't believe you're all obsessed with MJ now. You're going to know all his songs! I've never heard Blood on The Dancefloor but obviously I should check it out

it was literally a medal they gave out to some people who never got to go to afghanistan. Justin biebs got one too. Thats hilarious how they had to turn around and come back to canada, super embarrassing. Dad said you're learning how to guard cf-18s? lol hows that going?

1000 bucks a month for my apartment and i live alone. I wouldn't want a flood medal lol. It would be just as worthless as the queens diamond jubilee medal, which they literally gave out at random. I hope we get to go to iraq, theres talks of a training mission later on down the line to train the iraqi army, just like we did in kabul with the afghanis. Do you know anyone that left this week?

My apartment costs an arm and a leg. I eat like a walrus now too, like 4-6 meals a day. I spend like 150 bucks on groceries every 3 days lol. Would you even want to go to iraq? I hear they're stationing out of kuwait. That would be pretty sweet. The only thing I've ever done is fought the floods in portage...twice.
