Overall, magnificent. No matter how far we are from the front, any measurable distance beats youtube :D This was the first JM gig I have ever been to. The things we see and feel first hand are just priceless... There were times when he seemed really commited to this gig as if there was nowhere else he wanted to be. Especially when he played "Perfectly Lonely". Sometimes we only think about wanting to see them, when there are so many times they just really want to see us. But you could notice he and the band were a bit worn out :) I just looooved "Gravity"... The room was much smaller than I expected, and I loved that. Really good acoustics, my compliments to the sound staff. The support was way out of genre, yes, but I didn't mind at all because 1. I got there really late (only heard two or three songs) 2. they're good musicians. There are different ways of appreciating the same thing ;)

@trudy_rocks Yeah exactly, well said :P i wish i hadn't have queued at all :/it was quite gutting queuing for so long and ending up on the balcony... standing up! Gravity was excellent, they all were tbh :) who would you have liked to support?

Awesome gig, just brilliant. The support were not to my taste and tbh i was pretty glad when they came off, i just wanted to hear John :) Amazing setlist (although dissapointed with the encore) Good atmosphere and great acoustics...the perfect room for a perfect gig!! The queuing system was pathetic, i queued for 3hrs30mins, only to get in and 100's of people were already inside (just because they'd been to the bar and they got to go in 10mins early :@:@:@:@:@ i ended up standing up on the balcony :S All in all, a great night (Y)

Great gig. Not sure if I prefer a smaller band than eight people (just John, a drummer and a rhythm guitarist personally), but brilliant all the same. Support were pretty good too!

Thats strange, i booked through HMV pre-sale too and delivery only cost me £4.95...i like to have my tickets before i get there for THAT reason :) i'm getting right to the front!!

@olufsenUK Yeah, I saw that someone had put Michael Franti's on at the Apollo, but according to his myspace he's playing in Chandler, Arizona on the 15th.

According to some of the other gigs he's doing in the UK, the support acts are: Michael Franti & Spearhead - HMV Hammersmith Apollo, LONDON & Codeine Velvet Club - O2 Academy, GLASGOW. We could get anyone, but i'd much prefer the latter for a JM gig :)

haha. a taxi. I think it'd be cheaper to rent a car :D Nop, no close friends in London (this is what we call a "dry joke" - if they were close, they wouldn't be so far away in London.. haha). I guess I have two options: - Bus @ 2 AM to London (crazy, but still considering it) - Bus to Birmingham, sleep there; and head back to London in the morning, by train. It's kind of frustrating when it costs so little to fly a thousand miles. Thanks :)

well im sure the only way is to get a taxi, but that will cost a LOT of money. do you have any friends in london? if not, it would probably cheaper to stay in a hotel overnight and go back down to london in the morning :)

Almost there! Also going to step foot in the UK for the first time :o Can you guys suggest a travel plan? I was thinking on heading back to London on the same night of the event, but the last train leaves Wolverhampton at 22h45. That's way too soon :/ Any ideas? See you there ;)

no idea but we should be finding out very soon (y) both times ive seen him the support acts have been great (Newton Faulkner & Jack McManus). Hopefully it wont disappoint us :)
