Jonne Aaron Liimatainen ( born August 30, 1983) is a Finnish singer and frontman of Negative.
Early life
Jonne was born in Tampere, Finland as Jonne Aaron Liimatainen, but as his last name is difficult to pronounce for non-Finnish speakers, he has substituted his middle name for his last.
Jonne is 1.78 metres (5 ft 10 in) tall, and weighs 59 kilograms (130 lb). He has blue eyes, and his August birth makes him a Virgo. Jonne was brought up in foster care due to alcoholic and abusive parents. His brother Tommi knew that he needed tough love. He skipped school and guitar lessons preferring to hide in his room. He is currently the lead singer and lyricist of the Finnish glam rock band Negative. He has two brothers, Tommi, also his manager, and younger brother, Ville, who is also a musician, he is the lead singer of Flinch.
Jonne is known for being very, very shy. He can play guitar and sometimes will play acoustic during concerts. He can also play a little bit of piano, drums, and bass. He plays the harmonica solo in the Negative song Until You're Mine. He has also mentioned in past interviews that Kurt Cobain, Nirvana, Bloodwych, and Guns N' Roses inspired him to begin a musical career.
In his teens, Jonne formed Negative with his friend, Jay. Later Antti, Kristian (Sir Christus) and Lauri (Larry Love) joined the band.
Negative
Negative were formed late 1997 and all the songs on their first album War of Love were written over a 6 year time span. War of Love has gone gold in Finland, and is very close to platinum.
In 2004, under the overseeing eye of producer TT Oksala (HIM, The 69 Eyes, Lordi) Negative produced their second album, Sweet & Deceitful with new keyboardist Snack.
With the release of the new album Anoretic in late 2006 Negative is ready to take it to the next level. (www.gbfam.com)
In The Year of 2007 Negative planned to released the Anorectic edition version with DVD and their first DVD in the Autumn.
As of January 2008, Sir Christus is no longer part of Negative.
In May 2008, their fourth album came out: "Karma killer". It is the best album of the band.
Negative is nominated for the "Emma Galaa 2009" (Finnish grammy awards)in two categories: best artist of the year and best DVD of the year (In the eye
of the hurricane).
