I find it hilarious that people get upset over those who are well versed in metal correct others when something isn't metal. Sleep Token for an example is not metal. They're a pop artist that sometimes play rock/djent/progressive. Never seen this as a negative thing and the old argument is nu metal, metal or not? Yes and no. They're certainly metal but lack much of the traditional style most (even current) metal bands carry. The lines get blurred with fusion genres. So I get where metalheads (like Metal Archives) come from, even though they come off as rude or elitist. I'm pretty open minded when it comes to metal and metal fusions but I listened to enough metal to know what's metal. Does it make me an expert? Probably, probably not. It shouldn't bother those that listen to nu metal, metalcore, deathcore isn't accepted as metal, or if you like Sleep Token which isn't really metal at all despite metal magazines pushing that they are metal.

This has always been the most positive and uplifting form of rock music. I will never understand Metalheads who are misanthropic or cranky. That shit makes no sense. This is music for a nice walk on the brightest and most beautiful of days.

My top three favorite genres of metal are black metal, metalcore, and progressive death metal (with thrash metal and industrial metal being in fourth and fifth place). For black metal it includes all genres, it really goes well with anything and theres so much variety of it to listen to, it's like sex and pizza you can't really go wrong with it and it really is the goated metal genre. Metalcore is interesting because so much of it is terrible but when it's done right it's peak music, not all of it is good but the good stuff is really good. And I'm not that big a fan of death metal, but adding progressive elements adds allot to it, and bands like Opeth, Gojira, Edge of Sanity, & Ulcerate go hard. As for my least favorite metal genres, probably grindcore which I've never been able to really get into (although I do like Discordance Axis & Pig Destroyer so this might change), and I've never really liked Nu-Metal either, besides like Deftones

Metal is the musical counterpart of the Kalashnikov rifle. They both hit really hard, are rugged, sturdy, tough, and well-liked by many and takes a skill to wield. While the fanbase has similar behaviour to the anime fan community. Anime artstyle itself is an art counterpart of the AK, easy to replicate and liked by the masses.
