FUTURE & LIVEONE DAY presents ERIC PRYDZ presents PRYDA

There are few artists as eagerly anticipated as Eric Prydz.

Billboard labelled his recent US tour one of the “most buzzed-about events of the season.” At last Aussie fans will get their chance to experience it first-hand, when legendary Swedish producer Eric Prydz makes his debut visit to our shores in March.

One of the most respected DJs in dance history, the legendary Prydz is finally coming to Australia as a headliner on summer’s mammoth Future Music Festival – and also to perform four special FMF ‘After Party’ headline shows in brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide.

If catching one of the world’s greatest DJs at Future Music Festival isn’t enough for you, these official After Parties will see Prydz showcasing the epic Pryda sound that has gained him global recognition and helped him amass a legion of fans. Prydz will take to the stage to perform extended three-hour sets – described as a “wordless opera” by The Huffington Post, complete with lasers, LEDs and Prydz’s iconic tracks.

To ensure Australian fans get to experience Pryda in all its glory, Prydz has enlisted label protégés Jeremy Olander and Fehrplay to support him at these headline shows. The “Swedish DJ star of the future” (Resident Advisor), Olander released music on notable dance labels such as JOOF Records, Spinnin’ Records and Phazing before joining the Pryda family, while Fehrplay is Jonas von der Fehr, who burst onto the scene back in 2009 with ‘Meow’ and never looked back.

With his groundbreaking skills and sophisticated sonic history, Eric Prydz’s very first visit to Australia is going to be something to be remembered. Anticipation for these shows is huge: get in fast to grab tickets before they run out!

“Prydz, in complete control of his audience, produced an amazing tech/progressive house set … everything from new edits on classics like ‘Call On Me’, to ‘Allein’ and ‘Every Day’. The response from the crowd can best be described as a mix of respect and astonishment. The legend proceeds him, and everyone woke up smiling ear-to-ear.” – youredm.com

“Prydz’ mastery is his ability to command and then educate audiences who might walk into a concert with more commercial,
big-room understandings of dance music.” – Huffington Post

With three top two UK singles – ‘Call On Me’, ‘Proper Education’ and ‘Pjanoo’ – worldwide recognition and an enigmatic mastery of the game, Eric Prydz has been breaking boundaries ever since he first emerged with his dark, brooding electronica.

Whether dominating dance floors via monthly residences in Las Vegas (Wynn Hotel, Surrender’s “Black Dice” show) to wowing audiences at festivals such as New York City’s Electric Daisy Carnival or Miami’s Ultra Music Festival, the Grammy nominee never rests. Prydz topped charts across the globe back in 2004 with ‘Call On Me’, turning a clever Steve Winwood sample into a killer hook and four million sales. He broke new ground two years later via ‘Proper Education’, which featured a sample lifted from Pink Floyd’s iconic ‘Another Brick in the Wall’. The track’s accompanying environmentally themed video was hailed by NGO Greenpeace, who used it in global marketing campaigns and school education.

2008’s ‘Pjanoo’ was Beatport’s fastest selling release, while Prydz was busy also turning attention to his labels, Pryda and Mouseville. Home to many genre-defining dance releases, these included Prydz’s own house offerings, recorded under his ‘Pryda’ moniker: songs like ‘Aftermath’, ‘Armed’, ‘Muranyi’ and ‘Melo’.

Check Eric Prydz’s recent EPIC 2.0 show at NYC’s Hammerstein Ballroom here, and catch a special YouTube mix of ‘Layers’ here. Epic doesn’t even begin to describe how good these After Parties are going to be – jump online now and grab tickets before they sell out!
