Description

Lankum is an Irish quartet composed of Ian Lynch, Daragh Lynch, Radie Peat, and Cormac MacDiarmada. With the release of their fourth and critically acclaimed album False Lankum (Rough Trade, 2023), which was nominated for the Mercury Prize, the band has solidified its reputation as one of Ireland’s most vital voices. The album has introduced their music to a devoted new following.

False Lankum is constructed as a single musical composition, consisting of twelve interconnected tracks spanning a sweeping 70 minutes. Drawing inspiration from traditional songs and primitive techniques, the band has created a deep, psychedelic listening experience that blends experimental overtones and thunderous drones with classic songwriting, tight vocal harmonies, and timeless storytelling.

Following a string of sold-out shows after the album’s release, Lankum’s live performance has evolved into a modern force—where acoustic instrumentation (uilleann pipes, fiddle, concertina, guitar, tin whistle, and percussion) and tightly harmonized vocals swell into a vast, kaleidoscopic wall of sound.

Support: Ora et Labora – Sara Parkman!

Sara Parkman, Hampus Norén, and Anna Möller let harmonium, voice, tagelharpa, fiddles, and bells conjure a landscape born of prayer and labor. Music from the past and the future, with melancholy and longing embroidered into the language of melody.
