Description
The small Cumbrian harbour town of Maryport will once again be alive with the best in blues music.
This year, over 40 bands and 150 individual musicians from all over the globe will be performing in the main stage marquee, in the pubs and clubs and on an outdoor stage and on the street, to thousands of visitors from all over the UK.
Following last year's inaugural visit, Radio 2 is proud to return to the Maryport Festival 2010.
The network's Blues show presenter Paul Jones, who provides the Radio 2 audience with a weekly dose of Rhythm and Blues every Monday night from 7pm-8pm, will host a Radio 2 Blues Night to be broadcast in July.
Paul will present exclusive coverage of the festival including live music from all the major artists featured on the Main Stage, including Paul Carrack, Robert Cray and Canned Heat.
With backstage interviews and features about the festival, the fringe performances and the local area, Paul will bring Radio 2 listeners a true taste of this unique and much loved event.
