This was possibly the worst festival experience of my life. I won tickets to it via a BBC R1 competition. At the time, I was living in Warwick, so figured it would be easy enough to get there. Wrong - transport was a nightmare, and after a several-hour journey to travel only a few miles I got there late on the Friday and had missed Jacob's Mouse, my favourite band of the time. I remember seeing CNN on (I think) Saturday morning. They were okay, nothing too special. Then we decided to leave early on Sunday to avoid the crush, so missed all the top billed bands on Sunday night. On top of all that, Mark Radcliffe then abused me live on R1 because I never wrote him a thank you note (ok, so I probably deserved that bit). Anyway, it put me off festivals for life. I've not been to one since.

quasi riot? some pissed boys kicking a fence after being told to keep quiet...

I remember the quasi-riot after we got everything shut down by security on the first night in 1993. We pushed the fence down, and there was some general trouble and strife. Never want again - Glasto was the one for us really.
