Suitable sized, Finland’s most spontaneous, individual and sympathetic Metal event Dark River Festival takes place 11.8-13.8.2022 in Kotka. Welcome to The Most Exciting Metal Festival of ’22!
Year after year breaking it’s own attendance records and fascinating with wide variety of metal genres, the festival again invites all the headbangers to the woods of Honkala for a summer’s end celebration like no other. Event’s development & moderate growth continues, but we are not planning to lose any of that Heartwarming Atmosphere Dark River is known for. “Riverit” is already a must-go yearly tradition for thousands of Metalheads!
Dark River Festival 2022’s line-up has been built with Blood and Sweat, so We Metal enthusiasts could offer best possible line-up for You Metal enthusiasts. Dark River Festival is Special Metal Experience. Instead of the Normal festival structure, taking place everywhere, every year, for the thousand time, Our main goal is to provide Consistency and out-of-the-box Metal Memories!
Of course the line-up includes all time favorites and genre legends, but most importantly metal bands loved by The Metal Fans, that haven’t visited Finland nor Kotka that often, if ever! Those who know, do Know, that Kotka is a place to be next august, and You shouldn’t hesitate to grab those tickets while You still can.

Dark River Festival isn’t a mass event. Compared to most of the other festivals, audience capacity is quite moderate, about 4000 visitors per day. Wide festival area offers all the festival visitors an opportunity to keep the distance, if needed. Your feedback is heard, so the VIP -area and (much, much wider) camping site will be significantly improved. Camping site selection will come to sale as soon as possible in the beginning of 2022.
