The 2023 Our Lady of Fatima Festival Committee would like to thank everyone for helping us celebrate our 75th anniversary. This celebration has withstood the test of time and brings the entire community of Artesia together to celebrate Our Holy Mother, Mary.

Our celebration began in 1948, by a group of Portuguese immigrants and their families who moved to Artesia. Along with Dutch settlers, the Portuguese immigrants developed Artesia into one of the most important dairy districts of Southern California. At the same time, Our Lady of Fatima Catholic School was opened. Many of the same individuals that helped in the creation of our celebration also had a hand in the establishment of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic School, also a lasting memorial to our Blessed Mother.

The story of the visitation of Our Lady to three shepherd children in Fatima, Portugal is well known and celebrated throughout the world. It encouraged a greater dedication to the Rosary, Christianity, and to Our Salvation. From its beginning, the celebration of Our Lady of Fatima has always been not only our devotion to her, but also to our Portuguese culture.

The Our Lady of Fatima Festival 2023 will be held at 11903 Ashworth Street in Artesia, CA, from May 5th to 14th.

Schedule :

6:30 PM - Bilingual Mass at Holy Family Catholic Church led by Father Luís Proença and Father Domingos Machado. Performance by the Holy Family Portuguese Choir Group.
7:30 PM - Candlelight Procession from Holy Family Catholic Church to Artesia D.E.S. Portuguese Hall.
8:30 PM - Reception for the Pilgrims at Artesia D.E.S. Portuguese Hall where Refreshments and Sweet Bread will be served.
9:00 PM - Live Concert by Jorge Ferreira (Headline Artist).
11:00 PM - Vigil of Our Lady of Fatima at Artesia D.E.S. Chapel until Dawn.
