THE NEW FESTIVAL:
May 16, 2008 marks the beginning of an entirely new Sun God Festival. The festival has been largely revamped to accommodate its extraordinary growth in attendance over the years. Now comprised of three stages, a street fair, and a carnival, A.S. Programming has taken a large-scale concert and transformed it into a remarkably outstanding music and arts festival. The new layout promotes a sense of campus unity, bringing all six colleges together in one space, promoting student interaction, and encouraging involvement. The diversity of the event itself proves to deliver something for everyone. Students will surely be amazed when they step onto RIMAC field this May!

TICKETS AND ENTRANCE:
The festival's ticketing system and entrance have been entirely revamped to be more accommodating and efficient. This year, the entrance will move from Ridge Walk to Hopkins Drive and student IDs will no longer be scanned at the gates. Instead, during the week leading up to Sun God (May 12th-15th), students can pick up a personal wristband at their college using their student ID. Specific locations TBA soon. Distinct student guest wristbands will also be sold at the stations with barcodes linking back to the student. On the day of Sun God, students will simply have to show their student ID and wristband to enter. Likewise, student guests will have to provide a valid photo ID along with their wristband at the entrance. As with any large event, bags will continue to be checked at the entrance. The new wristband system will also, for the first time, enable re-entry to the festival up until a certain hour. Attendees will be able to get a re-entry stamp at the entrance, exit, or any A.S. Programming info booth.
FREE TO UCSD UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS WITH VALID STUDENT ID
Make sure to pick up your free wristband at your college from May 12th to May 15th.
Student guest wristbands will be available for $35 (limit 2 per student).
Alumni, graduate student, staff, and faculty wristbands will also be available for $35 at the Price Center box office (additional information TBA).
