the new album is pop...what?

Just read his bio on Soundcloud which goes on and on about how there's only pop music and James is different and he's making it his mission to bring rock n roll back! Then he releases a pop song. Lol what?

New album on pre-order. You've got my affection James.

Finally got around to listening to Parachute and I can't say enough how disappointed I am. I read somewhere his claim that this album would be "heavier metal." This is NOT even remotely close to metal, it's really borderline pop rock...and maybe that's his key demographic. But come on, man...if you're gonna say it's heavier metal, people are going to be expecting something heavier than your first album, which this is NOT! He just needs to wake up and decide which demographic he's going to play to. Don't say it's Judas Priest and give us Owl City...

Parachute is awesome! Can't wait for the new album.

The best singer ever on American idol. He should be on the top of the charts. Keep it up James, you have it. I'm still a fan and always will be!!!

I literally can't even describe how good this guy is live. His album may sound pop, but he softened it so it would sell to his Idol fans. But live, he is all rock and metal and it's fantastic.

Outcast is the only 'metal' song on the new album (classic 80's glam style), and the rest is power-pop / pop-rock / post-grunge but perfectly written and performed. Decent stuff!

It is a good upbeat album. Hopefully it will get some publicity on American idol. I still wish he would jet in a band with a guitar hero song writer and get more METAL, but that's just me.
