Biography
Katreeya English is a highly successful Thai-British actress and singer who rose to prominence during the 2000s. She began her career as an actress, gaining widespread recognition for her roles in television dramas and as a TV host. Later, she signed with GMM Grammy as a singer. To break away from her established image as an actress, she took a two-year hiatus and debuted as a singer with her album Around The Clock in 2001. The album featured hits like “OK นะคะ,” “ติ๊กต็อก,” and “นอกสายตา,” achieving massive success with nearly one million copies sold. Following this, she released five more albums, all of which received significant attention.
In late 2001, she joined a special girl group project alongside China Dolls, Ya Ya Ying, and Jenny from JAMP under the name 2002 ราตรี. This project became one of her career highlights. The album was a massive hit, selling nearly one million copies, and cemented the group’s reputation as one of the best girl groups of the 2000s, despite being a temporary collaboration. Due to their success, the group reunited for albums under different names, including 2005 Tiwa Hula Hula, 2007 Show Girls, and Brazia.
In 2007, after her contract with GMM Grammy ended, Katreeya decided to step back from her singing career to focus on acting. Since then, she has consistently appeared in TV dramas almost every year. While her singing career has shifted to occasional performances for TV soundtracks, she continues to participate in major concerts, both as a solo artist and as part of 2002 ราตรี to this day.
