美勇伝 (v-u-den; alternatively Biyuuden, viyuden, etc) was a Hello! Project unit, a Japanese pop group formed in August 2004. The group was lead by Morning Musume member Rika Ishikawa (石川梨華), as a new project to focus on after her Morning Musume graduation. She was joined by Hello! Project Egg Yui Okada (岡田唯) and audition winner Erika Miyoshi (三好絵梨香).
The name 美勇伝 is made up of the characters for beauty (bi; 美), bravery (yuu; 勇), and legend (den; 伝). It has been romanized many ways, but "v-u-den" eventually became the most constant.
The group released 10 singles, one studio album, and one compilation album. As a group, they also hosted a TV show in 2004 and had a radio show from 2005 to 2006. 美勇伝 was one of the most active groups under Hello! Project. They disbanded on the last day of their fifth concert tour, on June 29, 2008.
