Biography
1) 3piece (쓰리피스), formerly known as onair and st onair, is a South Korean girl group currently under SW Entertainment, previously with J-Star Entertainment. This group consists of: Viki, Soo, and Iya.
On the 10th of November 2022, former member Kimi posted photos on Instagram, featuring Namkyung, Sohyeon, and Jihye, with hashtags “#ONAIR” and “#commingsoon”, revealing the up-and-coming group to the public. A week later on the 16th, the group was officially announced, with J-Star Entertainment as their agency. The company held a Japanese live tour for the group, “ONAIR Live Tour in Japan Start Up” from November 23 to December 31, 2022 prior to their official debut in Korea.
The group announced via Twitter, on January 19, 2023, that they had moved companies and would be preparing for their debut under SW Entertainment. Following their company switch, it was revealed that they had changed their group name to st onair, while also modifying their usernames across their SNS accounts in the process. However, shortly after, it was reverted back to onair.
On the 7th of August 2023, Hyeum was revealed to be a new member, but on the same day, Jihye was announced to have left the group. Later that month, Hyeum’s presentation post had been deleted alerting fans of her departure. On October 23rd, Viki (known as Yubeen at the time) joined the group, making it four members once again. But sometime during January 2024, Kimi was removed from SW Entertainment’s website, indicating that she had left the group and new profile photos depicting the remaining three members were released.
On March 24, 2024, it was revealed through SW Entertainment’s website that the group had been rebranded as 3piece. The name means that the group shines the brightest when three pieces come together, just as three pieces come together to complete a suit. It was announced on July 25th that the members would have new stage names. Yubeen will now be known as Viki, Sohyeon as Soo, and Namkyung as Iya.
2) The group 3 Piece represents a return to the harmony of Urban R&B music. This trio of singers, songwriters, and producers aim to take music lovers back to a time of slow-grinding grooves and kissing on the dance floor. Deeply rooted in the community they grew up singing in church Reese G, Lucky Charm, and J. Bizzle believe the success of 3 Piece is grounded in their true love of music. They spent five years providing a harmonic soundtrack for daily commuters on Chicago's train lines. The result of singing for the public on the train all those years granted the guys unmatched vocal training, notoriety within the Chicago music community, and the respect of their fans. 3 Piece released an indie project in the fall of 2002 on a Chicago-based label their debut album First Come First Served sold more than 100,000 copies, and the first single Ohh Ahh ran for (42) weeks on top rated Clear Channel-Chicago station, WGCI, breaking the national record for longest running single, a slot previously held by R. Kelly at 36 weeks. 3 Piece has shared the stage with industry heavy weights such as: Jay-Z, R. Kelly, Mary J. Blige, Brian McKnight, Ja Rule, Jahiem, Mario, Omarion, Marcus Houston, Nelly, LL Cool J, Dru Hill, Jagged Edge, Tyrese, Kanye West, and Twista, among others. They have polished their performance skills through appearances at major events such as: WGCI/Big Jams, Taste of Chicago, Spring Break/Daytona Beach, Summer Jam/Little Rock, and at the distinguished Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Center in Nashville. The accomplished vocalists hold bragging rights as musicians who write, arrange, and produce all of their own music. They have had original tracks submitted to artists such as, Twista, Do or Die, Trina and Trick Daddy. Reese G holds production and vocal credits for the Pliers hot new single, "Pretty Pu**y". As they look to the future, 3 Piece plans to continue composing music, working on collaborations with fellow artists, and sharing their thought provoking and real life/love lyrics to the masses. Their new single, Your Body's Callin is currently in heavy rotation on Chicago's Clear Channel station (WGCI), and also on myspace.com/3Piecemusic where they have logged over 375,000 hits.
