Biography
Charles Lomu, more popularly known in the music industry as "6 POUND" is the son of Etuate from Niua Fo'ou and Lolohea from Leimatu'a. "6 POUND" was born and raised in Sydney Australia with his seven siblings; Uluafi, Ofila, Sulia, Pipiena, Elisapeta and Soane. Currently "6 POUND" teaches at the Belmore Community Youth Center and surrounding High Schools in the Sydney area. His classes focus on the youth and how lyrics can become a medium for them to express their feelings and experiences. "6 POUND is also the father of two beautiful children Micah and Julienna-Beth.
At the age of fourteen "6 POUND" ventured into the music industry as a bass singer for an acapella gospel quartet while trying to pursue a career in the rugby league. He moved out of his home at the age of seventeen and welcomed the birth of his son Micah at the age of nineteen. In the midst of these life changes and challenges music became a primary source of comfort for him, and he continued to channel his thoughts, feelings and experiences to paper. At age twenty-two he was given his first opportunity to step into the recording studio where he became a member of a hip-hop and R&B trio group named "FOBFAM". In the same year "6 POUND" wrote two songs for a local R&B artist and discovered that not only did he want to be a performer, but he wanted to be a song writer as well.
In March 2004, his solo debut album "25:2:LIFE" was released in Australia and has picked up its momentum in other parts of the world as individuals begin to discover and feel of the talent inherent within this album. "6 POUND" expresses the need to remain true to one's identity and self in his song Stay Real, talks openly about his experiences of being a single father in his hit song First Seed, articulates the downfall of those who let pride run their lives in the song Price of Pride, discusses the complexities in relationships in Nowuncompehz and talks about the power of love in his popular song Angel.
