ALT BLK ERA is a Nottingham based alternative music duo, made up of sisters Nyrobi and Chaya. The sisters have performed at multiple major UK music festivals and have been featured as “Ones to Watch” across multiple notable music publications, such as Kerrang!, Rock Sound, Metal Hammer, and NME. They won Best Alternative Music Act at the 2025 MOBO Awards.
They proudly clash genres of music across their discography, including alt-pop, rock, electronica and DnB, with influences from countless bands prevalent in all their tracks.
In their earlier discography, they showed their range by telling the same stories from different perspectives across SOLAR and LUNAR versions of songs - with SOLAR versions being more upbeat and energetic, and LUNAR versions generally being more melancholic. After this experimentation, they have gained their footing as artists with a well-established and distinct sound, constantly improving with each new release and showing no signs of slowing down.
They independently released their debut EP, titled Freak Show, on September 1st, 2023. Their debut album, titled Rave Immortal, was released on January 24th, 2025 and debuted at #82 on the Top 40 charts in the UK, placing #1 on the UK’s official Rock & Metal Albums chart the week of its release.
