I knew of Action Bronson in the 2010's and I finally properly listened to his music. I sort of first listened to him, one of his songs was blasting out of a car while I was out for a walk somewhere in Brick, NJ in early 2020. I liked what was blasting, usually people blast bad music out of their vehicle. Action Bronson records quality music and I'm happy that was blasting out of a vehicle that one day in 2020. I discovered it was a track called The Rising when I Shazamed it from my phone, yes they were blasting it out loud enough for Shazam to recognize it up. Yesterday, I re-discovered The Rising track plus more tracks on Spotify. Action Bronson rocks!

Yes, because I've listened to music from both artists and made up my own opinions. Bronson is weak.

This some smooth ass jazzy/soul/funk Bronson, the samples throughout the album goes hard.

He doesn't need them when he has countless bars in every track that are more memorable than all the choruses on most rappers' entire albums

Love Bronson, but I haven't loved a project since Blue Chips 2. I feel like his style changed up a bit once he got on a major label and he's just not at the level he used to be. Not saying his new stuff is *bad*, but I just can't rock with it like I did with his older stuff. Only For Dolphins, Lamb Over Rice, White Bronco and Blue Chips 7000 together don't even have enough good songs to make one good full length album. Looking forward to when he releases an album that shuts my ass up though.

Ah I didn't know these last two were independents. What I do appreciate about this era of Bronson though is that he comes off as very happy with where he's at as an artist, so I can't hate on him for organically progressing his sound the way he has. Personally I enjoyed Mr. Wonderful quite a bit, but yeah Blue Chips 2 is prime Bronson so it's hard to top that.

Totally agree. I do enjoy his latest projects but he's seemed to venture off into some kind of abstract, avant-garde style as far as his lyrics and general style goes. He used to be pretty lyrical and have a really crazy flow on his earlier projects all the way up to Blue Chips 2 like you mentioned. Again, not mad at the new Bronson, I appreciate his creativity and he's really original but miss the straight rappity-rap Bronson of older projects.

Since Rick Ross is my favorite rapper I thought I would like Bronson but something just doesn't work for me.

@Olkeuk: Actually I do (don't take this as an attack because it's not) but you don't seem to listen to this kind of rap usually, that's maybe why you don't like him. He's not the best, his flow is the same on all of his albums but he's fun to listen to, and the production are very well done, and sometimes original

I’m glad dude cause I’m not tryna attack anyone and I know you ain’t either, I’ve tried listening to bronson in the past, tryna listen and enjoy each project he drops but he just doesn’t bring much to the table besides some good bars and flows. But I will admit his production on his tracks are fantastic but that isn’t really his artistry (unless he produces them, not sure?). I always try going into each rapper with an open mind to enjoy it but every project just doesn’t seem to stick, appreciate the reply tho dude

He's not really a producer, I think sometimes he makes some beats but not really professionnally but he collaborates mainly with The Alchemist, Harry Fraud, Statik Selektah and Party Supplies for the beats. I think one of his main proble is that he fails to really evolve, I mean his first few projects are well received and appreciated but since I'd say 2015 he brings kind of the same thing every project. I think that's why he kinda lost his success, I have the impression that nowadays people are more interested in Meyhem Lauren than Bronson
