Biography

Agalisiga Mackey (born circa 2003) is a Cherokee singer-songwriter from Kenwood, Oklahoma. He writes primarily country songs that celebrate his language and culture. His debut full-length album, 2024's "Nasgino Inage Nidayulenv'i" (English translation: "It Started in the Woods"), is entirely in Cherokee. In addition to original songs, the album includes a cover of "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry", originally by Hank Williams, translated into Cherokee ("Akisodane Yigatloyiga").
