Grupo Aguakate is a prominent Dominican merengue, bachata and reggaeton performer. When he performs without his regular band, he is known simply as "Aguakate". He is considered by some to be one of the most respected artists and singers of the bachata tipico or nueva bachata movement, and has made various reggaeton songs. His music is very fast and energetic, and he can often be heard laughing while he is singing. His most famous song is "Reggaeton Ripiao" from the album "De Otra Galaxia". He has worked with Krisspy, Ingco Crew, Big Family, Don Miguelo, and Sergio Vargas. He has also appeared on the compilation 2007 Años de Exitos Reggaeton with the song "Quiero Verte (I wanna see you)" (feat. Don Miguelo). His catchphrase, regularly heard on his songs, is "Once Again" He can be heard weekday mornings on the radio show El Vacilon de la Mañana in New York.
