Biography
The project "ailo" consists of Nikos Vassilakis and Stelios Stamos.
Ailo started off within the year 2003 when nikos and stelios met under very peculiar circumstances. After falling in love with each other's music, they decided to put their musical efforts together and formed a new project; ailo. The project name itself means something not material, of no material structure. It can be an idea, a belief, an emotion or even a sense or an alternative reality.
Generally, ailo manage to form timeless productions with a mix of western and eastern elements, ideas that remain unimpaired through time, sounds both electronic and physical, diachronic concepts which don't bring out the same feelings as on the first listening, sounds which trigger inner feelings and deep emotions, inspire existential searches and welcome the listener to imagine endlessly. As a result, their music might make you happy or sad - or even both. It might relax you or fulfil you with energy; It might remind you or make you forget. But what is for sure, ailo's music can't be placed under a particular music tag.
While currently nikos is studying computer engineering and informatics desiveloping and stelios is an active sound technician for numerous shows in Greece, they tend to spend most of their time in studio producing some form of sound.
