Biography
Alex Lawrence was born in Hollywood California Presbyterian church in 1966. He was adopted when he was six months old by Edwin and Carolee Lawrence and lived with them in Tarzana California. At age 3 he learned how to piano.He went to school and moved to Woodland Hills at age 5. Due to his disabilities when he was born, Alex had a problem expressing himself, and people at school teased him. But at age ten he learned how to play drums and guitar. While being a teenager, he played drums with his friends Mark Forsythe,Dale Fisher, Tim Leighton, Ken Zacca, Scott Douglas, Tom Brenneman, Scott Rosen in bands called Crystal Myth, Armageddon with his friends Jim and Kassra, and he played percussion at CSUN at Forest Lawn, Disneyland, and at parties with his friends. His drum teacher was Scott Page.
After college, at College of the Siskiyous in Weed California(where he took courses in music appreciation, piano, and classes with word processing and computers. At West Valley Occupational he learned how to type as many as 97 words a minute. At age 21 he worked at the VA Medical Center in Westood in computers, release of information and medical information. After 19 years he retired due to his drug and alcohol problem, but spent most of his time sober from the help of AA and CA. In 2001 he sent in poems or lyrics to places like New World Publishing, Magic Key Productions and another publishing company that wishes to remain anonymous. About sixty songs were recorded and put on tapes or CD's produced by Art Kaufman and Jeff Rosen, and some of his songs were aired on PBS by Art Kaufman. His music was sang by singers like Jesse Mayfield, Angie Van Scoyk, Ruth Anne Sharp, Kandice Whittenberg, Bobby O, Tammara Broadwell, and other singers. Alex is submitting his songs to internet radio stations and has uploaded his songs to Audio Mack, Your Listen, and his music is being sold on CDBaby.com and all stores online that are affiliated with CDBaby.com like Amazon, i-tunes, Facebook, and many others. His song Carry On written back in 2003 and 2004 was number 22 through 33 at ReverbNation.com. It is one of his best songs including Moving On, I Can't Let You Go, So In Love With You, Wings of Love Midnight Blues, Friends and Lovers, Someone Like You(Bobby O, George Melendez, and producer of Hit Citi Music, who wishes to remain anonymous. Now Alex Lawrence lives in Tucson, Arizona.
