Alexa Carter is an Alternative / Pop singer from Biloxi, MS, United States.
Alexa Carter’s story is one of a young artist influenced and informed by so many genres of music, not to mention the worlds of art and fashion. After boldly convincing her parents at age 15 to move from their Mississippi home to New York City to hone her skills as a writer, singer and performer, a chance encounter with acclaimed producer James Stroud while singing in a nightclub set Carter down a new path. Stroud encouraged her to move to Nashville - a musically-creative town that still shares the Southern sensibilities of her youth. Carter’s growth since settling into Nashville has been both significant and steady. “I feel, for the first time in my life,” she says, “that I understand my voice and what the setting for my songs should be. It’s very liberating and empowering.” Following the recent release of “The Ballerina EP,” Carter has taken to the road with her band to further connect her to an audience. Look for Carter’s full-length album release on R&J Records later this year.
