Biography
Meet Alisha.
To know her is to know that at first meeting she has the curious capability of making you feel immediatly welcome: like you have been friends for years. True to form, her music holds that same capacity.
Canadian singer and songwriter Alisha Mann was born and raised in humble Brantford, Ontario. The youngest of five in a family with an unusual propensity towards musical giftedness, Alisha was quick to follow suit. She was a child who sang her thoughts instead of speaking them. She took up the piano at a young age, which she studied through to a year of college education. Most recently, she also began playing the guitar, which lends to the familial penchant for music. In 2007, Alisha studied at the Music and Worship Discipleship Training School in Matamata, New Zealand, in association with Youth With A Mission. There she was able to focus on sharpening her songwriting skills. Alisha is also currently an artist for Compassion International: a sponsorship organization for human justice.
As you listen to Alisha Mann’s music, it is apparent that she is singing words that she has lived, words she believes. There is conviction in her voice, which makes it easy for you to believe what she sings as well. Her heart gladly leaps off the pages of her lyrics. She is a songwriter that makes the task of conveying life’s journey seem so simple in the way she weaves her lyrics into perfectly suiting melodies. Her music speaks of hope, of justice, and of love. Most importantly, it tells of her unwavering relationship with God: a beautiful symphony of grace.
“Always With You”, the freshman EP of Alisha Mann released in June 2009, carries a celestial ambiance in the intimate, yet profoundly meaningful songs. In the simplicity of the arrangements there is a depth to her creativity. There too lies the weight of truth: both the obvious and the lessons life has taught. “Always With You” is available online through iTunes, Amazon, and www.alishamann.com.
