There are at least four artists who have used the name Alta:
1. Alta (Milwaukee, WI)
Alta was a straight edge post-hardcore band from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, active in the early 2010s. Led by bassist and vocalist Justin Gaworski, the group was noted for incorporating anti-substance themes into their lyrics. Their recorded output includes a self-released EP featuring a heavy, breakdown-driven sound typical of the genre.
2. Alta (Melbourne, Australia)
Alta is an electronic soul duo from Melbourne, Australia, consisting of vocalist Hannah Lesser and producer Julius Dowson. Formed in Hobart in 2011 and later relocating to Melbourne, the duo released two extended plays: Stay Awhile (2012) and Game Broke Out (2013). Their work combines downtempo electronic production with soul-influenced vocal performances and is distributed through digital platforms including Bandcamp, iTunes, and Spotify.
3. Alta (Kutztown, PA)
Alta was a band based in Kutztown, Pennsylvania, active during the early 2000s until disbanding in 2005. Documentation of the group’s activities and recorded material is limited. They were associated with the regional alternative and post-punk scenes of the period.
4. Alta (Leeds, UK)
Alta is a DJ and music producer from Leeds, United Kingdom. Beginning to release music in 2024, Alta produces electronic tracks influenced by 1990s house and dance music. His singles have been featured on BBC Radio 1 Party Anthems and Kiss FM, and he continues to release music within the electronic and club scenes.
