Biography
Frank (formerly of Sidekick Kato) attended the Berkley School of Music in Boston. Upon graduating he moved back home to Chicago eager to write and develop music. Around that same time Erik had been kicked out of JOAN OF ARC and was temporarily sitting in with APOCOLYPSE HOBOKEN. Call it destiny, timing, or some other miraculous event, the two met and hit it off like jolly elves.
'Frankie' and Erik began experimenting with sounds and non-traditional instrumentations. Somewhere along the way they picked up a few other local musicians (Joe Campagna - organ, samples, loops and vocals, Ben Kane - drums and backing vocals, Jon Taccona - synth and repairs) who had the same interest in building strong - solid melodies. An Automotive have a peciliar sound. Their sound is a blend of surf, electronic, traditional, pop and indie rock.
