Anastasia Minster is a singer and composer based in Toronto, Canada.
Living in a building overlooking a colossal park, Anastasia’s piano sits beside the window so that she can watch the sunset. It’s where she observes hawks as they soar, listens to coyotes howl and wakes up to the dawn chorus at 5 am. This is her favourite time of day, when there are no other sounds to hide their singing.
As the birds welcome the day, Anastasia’s is music to break the silence of the dark and to accompany those witching-hour questions of life and death, estrangement and connection. It should come as no surprise that composing is her form of meditation, a vessel for her unconscious mind.
Mysterious and shrouded, the music of Anastasia Minster has developed a distinct following. With piano-driven compositions, she has given voice to the melancholy of life. With jazz, folk, and classical fusion, the songs of Anastasia Minster are of the highest quality. They are as calming as they are full of thought and purpose. Her lyrical outflow responds to the thoughts of Jung, Hesse, and other influential minds that have contributed to the philosophical zeitgeist of several periods in time. To date, Anastasia Minster has released two albums, Hour Of The Wolf in 2017, and Father in 2020.
On October 8, Anastasia Minster will release her third set, Song of Songs, This new album will contain 8 new tracks that are heavily inspired by a biblical poem found in the Song of Songs portion.
