Biography
Andrew David Mills was born in Cambridge, England, and grew up in Milton Keynes and North London before moving to Leeds, Yorkshire, as a teenager to play guitar for "Salvation"
His bands include; "A Mess of Skin", "La Costa Rasa", "Sneetches" (NB - another band in the USA has the same name) and, since 2005, "Monmon" as well as recording eight solo albums. He plays Bass for monmon and gigs solo with acoustic guitar and mandola.
Mills attended Leeds Metropolitan University from 2001-2004 and read a First Class B.A. in Cultural Analysis.
Mills' influences include: John Lee Hooker, Davy Graham, The Velvet Underground, Sylvia Plath, the Pogue Mahones, the Hernandez brothers' comic "Love and Rockets", Philip K Dick, Marshal McLuhan, Roland Barthes and Jehanne la Pucelle.
Mills lives in a library in Leeds where he researches broadsheet ballads, vulgar Elizabethan bawdies and seafaring songs.
