Biography
Andre Holstad grew up in Holmlia, Oslo. He released his debut album, Counting Backwards, in 2012. This album presented to us a young artist with a distinctive, genuine sound; powerful, but nevertheless full of subtle details. The album was also evidence that 21st century rock 'n' roll is more than shallow ornaments and empty barrels. For Andre Holstad, rock 'n' roll is a matter of life and death.
Since the album debut Andre Holstad and The Saints have visited many a Norwegian rock club: Hulen (Bergen), John Dee, Rockefeller, Sentrum Scene, and Parkteatret (Oslo), Østsia (Kristiansand), and Familien (Trondheim), to name a few. They have also played festivals like Hove Festival, Stavernfestivalen, Månefestivalen, Fest i Dalen, and the Underwood stage at Norwegian Wood. In the autumn of 2014 they joined OnklP og de Fjærne Slektningene on tour, with the final show taking place at Rockefeller on 22 January this year
On Monday 2 March 2015, Andre Holstad and The Saints release their first single since the critically acclaimed debut album Counting Backwards. In the song Tragedy we get to know a mature and wise lyricist bravely sharing his stories from a life lived to the fullest. Tragedy showcases a new side of Andre Holstad and gives us a clue of what the new album will sound like. Tragedy also features the outstanding guitar work of Kjetil Grande.
