Biography
Also known as "Dre Boog", Wilson was born in the midwestern US, but raised in Southern California. He is known for carrying on the distinctive sound of his family ("The Gap Band") that successfully put it down during the late 70's and early 80's. This talented vocalist, producer/songwriter has launched his own musical campaign to try and give back to hip-hop/urban/alternative/street music, what's he feels is missing….. DIVERSITY!! Of course this has been no easy task because of the box that his voice, (reminiscent of his famous uncle "CHARLIE WILSON") has placed "DRE BOOGIE" in the hip-hop R&B catagoy… BUT……. "DRE OCTANE" has solved that dilemma! Yep, "DRE BOOG" has an alter ego that loves alternative rock as much as hip-hop or R&B. So get ready for music from many genre's of musical influence. You've probably have heard 'DRE BOOGIE' on various hip-hop collaborations with stars like Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre and Eminem, Xzibit, Kurupt, and many other west coast rappers. He even worked with the Neptunes on the "Philly's Most Wanted" hit "Please Don't Mind" He's a hook master and has a way of bringing a rap cut to life with his singing interpretations. He recently launched his own independent label (PAIRADICE RECORDS) and retail record store.
