Biography
Andrew Christopher Coe (born 14 May, 1983 in Aurora, IL, United States) is best known as the lead singer of the alternative rock band Empathy Comes Last (2003 - 2005). He has also recorded as a solo musician. His debut album, Parallels EP, debuted December 10th 2009 in the UK and December 11th in the US. Two singles were released from the album, “Parallels” and “Nastyy Crows”. As well as the Parallels EP, Coe will be releasing a solo EP entitled ‘Villain in a Cold World’ including 5 previously unreleased acoustic songs from his earlier works.
He mainly plays electric guitar, acoustic guitar and piano, but has also played drums and bass guitar (notably during the Empathy Comes Last sessions). He has one brother, Brandon, of the rap group, Infamous Inc. Coe currently lives in central Pennsylvania.
Andrew Coe is also heavily involved with Friends of the Earth and helped with their Big Ask campaign. He also played a Big Ask benefit gig at the VFW club in Hershey, Pennsylvania.
As a young adult, Coe enlisted in the United States Army where he spent eight years. Coe says he draws from those experiences when writing and arranging songs.
