Biography

Andrew Jilin is a Russian musician, he has played music all his life. From a young age he played drums, basses and other instruments in rock bands. He was particularly inspired when he heard the deeply moving sound of a flute.
The instrument he had heard was a Shakuhachi, the Japanese bamboo flute.
In Japan, it was performed by the Komuso Zen monks for years. Mainly used for meditation and enlightenment purposes, not for entertainment.

This instrument marked a turning point in Andrew's life; upon obtaining the first flute from him, he quit smoking and began studying Japanese music at the Moscow State Conservatory.
Soon Andrew became part of the ensemble of the Moscow State Conservatory of Japanese music Wa-On (A sound harmony in Japanese).
He finally participated in the World Shakuhachi Festival 2012 in Kyoto, where he was the only one to represent Russia. In 2012, he followed his first record: shakuhachi flute recorded live in different parts of the world.
His second album came out in September 2014, followed by concerts at the Moscow State Conservatory, tea houses and clubs with solo shakuhachi, shakuhachi and classical music. guitar, shakuhachi with traditional japanese instruments.

Andrew plays music on whatever project he is involved with. In fact, creating music for people is his greatest passion because he truly believes that music is a language of the Universe. Music is always with him and wherever he goes. Andrew never leaves his flute and tries to express his feelings in different parts of the world.
