Biography
Angel J. Nelson is a Miami-born singer-songwriter who combines genres like rock, grunge, pop, trap, and r&b to make what ultimately would become her sound.
As a child, she struggled with her shyness and hid her talents as a result but shared an unconditional love for music. She had been a music nerd for as long as she's been alive and never limited her ears to one genre. She grew up taking inspiration from artists like Rihanna, Sade, Nirvana, Paramore, Beyoncé, Nicki Minaj, Janet Jackson, and her all-time idol: Michael Jackson.
Though they are all relatively different, Angel saw a piece of herself in all these artists and built her artistry around the uniqueness of the sounds they helped create.
After years of experimenting, Angel began writing songs over rock beats, infusing elements of pop and r&b in her singing style constructing an alternative sound. She'd make songs with hard guitars and heavy drums while adding heavenly harmonies to hug her main vocals, ultimately creating her own version of a Rockstar.
