I wonder if Manilla Road knew this song existed when they were writing 'Dreams of Eschaton'...

Yea, people need to learn the timeline, Angel Witch was from the NWOBHM era, which was the primary INFLUENCE of Thrash, especially Metallica. It wasn't the other way around, Angel Witch pretty much died out and reformed several times before Metallica released Kill Em' All even.

Metallica have ripped off a lot of good riffs and taken credit....faggots (except for first few albums)

they didnt copy slayer or metallica because this song was realesed befor ride the lightning or reign in blood. and the For whom the bells toll riff is a widley used riff because the chords that make it up sound evil while being easy to play other similar sounding songs include am i evil (diamond head) and axis of evil (sodom)

To be absolutely completely honest, For Whom the Bell Tolls is probably better but it's a total injustice that (according to last.fm stats) this track has roughly 1.5% the listeners of the Metallica one. I'd say at least 10% of For Whom The Bell Tolls is directly reworked from this track and it's probably the best bit of FWTBT, surely therefore deserving of at least a tenth the number of listeners of the Metallica one? Not saying 'tallica shouldn't have used it but if you ever needed a transparent showing of how disproportionately popular some bands are when other bands like Angel Witch have 1.5% the number of listeners, this has to be near the top of the evidence box.
