2005
Having for several years desired to play in a rock band, guitarist and songwriter Martin Sahlertz finally decides to do something about it. He calls up drummer Johan Sylvest, who he first met some years ago in a marimba-orchestra. The two team up with Simon Vester, a guitarist Martin has come to know through one of his classmates. Joined by Johannes Bech on bass guitar, the quartet starts rehearsing at the local school in the evening hours throughout the week. Using a couple of months to find their feet and develop some songs, Annasaid soon begins gigging around Aarhus and in neighboring cities.
2006
The year starts out somewhat rough, with Martin, Johan and Simon being increasingly frustrated with Johannes' apparent lack of interest in the band. Eventually, Johannes is sacked, to be replaced by Jesper Jensen, whose powerful and talented way with the bass has an immediate, positive effect on the band. Boasting a stronger line-up than before, Annasaid increases concert-activity and the building experience begins to show in the band's live act.
Having saved up some money, earned from the various concerts, Annasaid enters Safelandings Studio, where they begin the still-excisting collaboration with producer Ole Gundahl, and record their first demo, "Art for Broken People", featuring the songs "Chinese Wannabe" and "Smart as Him", showing a more heavy, folky sound than the one to come. The demo is well-received and Annasaid ends the year 2006 looking forward< to an exciting 2007.
2007
Annasaid starts out year 2007 by entering the Emergenza Festival as one of the youngest bands in the country, and manages to move on from the initial round. In March, they once again enter Safelandings Studio, resulting in a 3-song outting, featuring "Knives Dig Deep", "Be Ready" and "Do as You're Told". The new demo spawns a series of new gigs and plenty of good press. In the summer, Annasaid is picked out from among many underground bands, and asked to participate in an exciting project for the annual "Aarhus Festival": The band is to compose a song for an art-video project which will run for one week at the Aarhus Art Gallery and Museum. The result is the song "Trust Me, I'm a Liar", and the band plays well-recieved shows at the opening and closing of the exhibition.
During the fall, the word of Annasaid is slowly but surely starting to spread throughout the underground community and the band keeps stepping up to a higher profile, playing gigs at lots of the good rock clubs in Denmark, and supporting acts such as Lily Electric, The Floor is Made of Lava and Surfact. Having long wanted a fifth member for the band, and having been through a couple of unsuccessful try-outs, the band finally finds the right one in Mathias Pedersen Smidt. Having long been a part of the underground scene in Aarhus, drumming for bands such as Kick Valiant and Avelynn, Mathias steps in on guitar, backing vox and occasional synth, upgrading Annasaid to a three-guitar unit.
The five-piece enters Safelandings Studio in November, for the third time in just little over a year, spending a week to record their first EP, entitled "Annasaid" and featuring the four songs "Buttons & Strings", "Springtime", "The Goldminer" and "Small Kiss of Light". The EP is brought along for sale at the band's following concerts and is distributed to labels and management & booking-bureaues throughout the country.

June 2008, Simon Vester left the band.
