SCOPE-E-TONE RECORDS was a joint venture between Bronx rapper Ezra (EZ ACE) Nanton and Roosevelt, Long Island producer Dez Dottin (Dez D) in the early 90's. This was the labels first and only release. Dottin was commissioned by, Bronx label, Groovement Ent. to produce Nanton's first album but the label soon folded in the interim. Dottin and Nanton stayed together. It didn't take them long to conclude with Nanton's ability to paint vivid heartfelt stories over Dottin's smooth grooves. Another Smooth Alliance was born. They went on to cut and archive 20 more titles that are still yet to be released.
